Y'all keep wanting it to be one way, though - because when Nas first announced King's Disease, almost everybody was skeptical of Hit-Boy's production and fearful it'd turn out wack. But were pleasantly surprised - but again, and I can't strees this enough, they can still have gripes even if they still like the overall product.

Y'all are on some big time stan shyt.

Yea I can think any producer is dope and still point out their weaknesses. It is what it is. Kanye is dope as fukk in his prime but always had issues with his drums. And couldn’t chop a sample as well as Just Blaze.

Nah it’s def true. And on top of that. nikkas thought the track list was fake cause they couldn’t believe the features. I was one of the few people on here telling nikkas it was real and made complete sense.

Not believing in the tracklist and being afraid that Hit Boy was going to make a wack album with Nas are two different things.

The MAJORITY of fans across this board and social media were excited when Nas and Hit Boy announced the album. Most were actually speculating that Hit-Boy was going to be motivated to make a better album with Nas than Kanye did (which he did)

All this stan stuff is kinda unnecessary. You're entitled to your opinion, but people are allowed to disagree with you. :yeshrug: It goes both ways.

I definitely did not see that enthusiasm, especially on here. Most of the reaction was :patrice:, which then turned into :ehh::gladbron: once it came out

Hit-Boy was still perceived as "The nikkas In Paris Guy", which he himself has talked about.

I was all up and down the Kings Disease thread on The Coli and on social media when the announcement was made. There was definitely anticipation and people were pleasantly surprised that Nas was working with Hit-Boy. Of course you had you’re “ Nas should be working with Alchemist/Premo/Pete Rock” trolls, but even that was few and far in-between. Most of the debate was, like you said, on if the tracklisting was real. I didn’t believe the tracklisting was real at FIRST because of the number of guest features (the most on a Nas album since IWW) and The Firm reunion but YOU actually convinced me; but that had nothing to do with Hit-Boy himself or his production, it was just going by the logic of previous Nas releases.

Once they dropped Ultra-Black as the single there wasn’t much chatter about “wack beats”; it was more about the controversy of him calling out Doja Cat.

People thought Ultra-Black was kinda underwhelming, though.
