Y'all keep wanting it to be one way, though - because when Nas first announced King's Disease, almost everybody was skeptical of Hit-Boy's production and fearful it'd turn out wack. But were pleasantly surprised - but again, and I can't strees this enough, they can still have gripes even if they still like the overall product.

Y'all are on some big time stan shyt.

Real talk! These Nas album threads always turn into some bullshyt. They talk more about shyt that has nothing to do with today and what Nas is blessing his fans with. They always want to turn this into some past tense shyt. No matter the subject it never has a damn thing to do with the album. Hype for a day then the thread takes a turn for the worse. They stop talking about the album, listening to the album & streaming the album. Nas fan base is similar to his critics. Shout out to those fans who really appreciate an artist like Nas.

I hear you but there’s only so much you can talk about an album with 9 tracks.

No everyone wasnt skeptical. The only people that were skeptical were the people stuck in the past. I knew hit boy was a young dope producer that could give nas some fire and he has exceeded expectations.

Nas - Magic

First "legit" review I've seen. 9/10, said that the KD era might be looked at as one of his better eras.

Nas might be the only rapper to have two releases in the best albums of the 2021 conversation. Magic.

Should be a 99.9 percent :lolbron:

Quoting you and @Ziggiy to say let's try to avoid raging at the inevitable bad reviews...we don't need to give them attention. We already made that mistake with HipHopDX and that Pitchfork lame last time, if we see something we disagree with shrug and keep it moving.

Nas Says He Held Back ‘The Lost Tapes 2’ Because He Didn’t Want To Disrespect Pete Rock’s Legacy | Genius

“When I didn’t feel like it got to the point where I heard it in my head, I didn’t do nothing with it,” he said.

This was especially true for the records produced by Pete Rock, because of the magnitude of his talent, Nas said.

“I didn’t want to put out the Pete records cause I didn’t want to disrespect his legacy by having a record I hadn’t put my all into,” he continued.

Eventually, he came to the realization that his work with Rock didn’t have to live up to the standards of a single like “The World Is Yours,” and that the songs deserved a release.

“It don’t have to be like the other records, it just is what it is,” he said. “Holding it back wasn’t doing me no good either way.”

He even said in the full interview that he didn't even really want to put LT2 out for a while but his team talked him into it.

I read that like Nas don't want to try to use to many of the same producers at one time because he knows how crazy his and those producers fans are

If its not illmatic level they can and will shyt on it

i get it :wow:

it didnt help tho saying he want to make and entire album with preme tho :francis:

I’m not even going to bother with reviews unless they express what I myself feel about the album. I haven’t cared about Pitchfork in years

He actually never said that. I have the Scratch Magazine cover they were interviewed for and Nas CLEARLY says in his portion of the interview that he wanted to Premo to be on what became Hip Hop Is Dead BUT that he wanted other producers involved as well.

The only time Nas has publicly talked about doing an album with Premier was shortly after HHID was released, he said his next move MIGHT be to do an album with Premier and an album with Dr Dre and release them on the same day.

Nah it’s def true. And on top of that. nikkas thought the track list was fake cause they couldn’t believe the features. I was one of the few people on here telling nikkas it was real and made complete sense.

I didn't doubt HitBoy and Nas could make something crazy, but I did doubt the track lists when they surfaced. I mean, thinking back, a Firm reunion with Cormega, a Lauryn Hill feature, and an Eminem feature have long since been on Nas "wishlists" and dream tracklists forever. Looking back, it is insane that all of this happened within a span of a year. Add to the fact we haven't had a Premo scratch on a Nas album since Stillmatic.

Anyone else noticed Nas been doing more punchlines and double entendres on this Hit Boy run. He’s always had them but feel his rhymes got way more now than they did back in the 90s/ 2000s.

I feel like Untitled was his most witty, punchline heavy album. The double entendres and the punchlines were all over that album.

I noticed it too. I’ve always enjoyed punchlines from Esco, especially when he goes in like he did on DJ Clue’s Live From The Bridge. I’m glad he’s using them consistently during this run.
