Ya'll are really overrating Alchemist here and I don't know if its to downplay Hit or whatever. This has gotten ridiculous at this point.
The problem is yall are so absurdly protective of every single Nas decision and career move that yall keep resorting to histrionics and Straw men at the mere suggestion that people would rather hear Nas with other producers.

TO ME, I enjoy the KD albums but they're not hitting me on the level where I don't think other producers would do a better job, I threw out Alc as an example and here comes Ziggiy pulling out some white savior BS straight from his ass. That's it. Plain and simple. I don't think I know what's best for Nas, I'm just saying what I'd personally rather hear so you guys can leave all the projections for either your mama or the candle lit vigil of Nas posters in your room.

I think Hit Boy is leagues better than guys like Swizz, Irv Gotti, Ron Browz, Duro and a bevy of other wack nikkas but that's really the whole thing - the fact that so many worse producers have gotten the same high profile credits as Hit Boy shows fukking dumb of an argument it s to simply use credits to prove that one sude is better than the other. Because I can tell you any rap fan is getting laughed out the building if they try to tell you some of them wack ass late 90s producers are GOATS just cause they worked with Jay, Nas, etc.

Even rap fans with broader tastes be shyting on Swizz Beatz wondering how they ever liked his shyt but by Ziggiys logic he's the GOAT :mjlol:

And y'all still can't seem to make up your mind between what sells and what is quality. Y'alls big joker when defending Hit-Boy against any other producer seems to only be sales when we know DAMN WELL that ain't indicative of anything, and even comparing the sales of a legacy artist like Nas to an underground rapper is inherently fallacious because Nas has 30 years of a built up fanbase and nostalgia - his sales, which aren't much stronger than Benny or Freddie to begin with, are on the back of his whole catalogue, not just what he's doing now.

Like you wanna say Hit-Boy is an elite producer because of nikkas In Paris, when that was not only a divisive beat among hip-hop heads like us, not only was it pretty much just a preset loop he found, but even Hit-Boy himself has tried to distance himself from that beat and prove he's more capable than that. So like, what are we doing here?

Yo I thought I was the only one who felt like the mix was a lil weird. I liked the mix better when it first dropped. I think they remastered it but it sounds different to me now. Still dope tho.

I definitely remember it being louder when the album first came out and I think some people here complained about it. You're right that they went back and remastered it because it sounds quieter now.

“Hit because you working with Nas you will receive a lot of hate like you never have before.”

THIS STATEMENT HAS AGED WELL!😂

But you’re only speaking on him cause of his work with Nas it works both ways.

enough of the producer talk. For the real Nas fans, what do we think the rollout is going to be this week? We usually get the tracklist for his albums on Wednesday or Thursday if I remember correctly. It would be dope if they had a mini documentary to go with this release.

O andaa bevy if other wack nikkas but that's really the whole thing - the fact that so many worse producers have gotten the same high profile credits as Hit Boy shows fukking dumb of an argument it s to simply use credits to prove that one sude is better than the other. Like you wanna say Hit-Boy is an elite producer because of nikkas In Paris, when that was not only a divisive beat among hip-hop heads like us, not only was it pretty much sharked from another dude, but even Hit-Boy himself has tried to distance himself from that beat and prove he's more capable than that. So like, what are we doing here?

Nobody is mad at the mere suggestion. Ya'll do this same dance every album though. Nas announces another KD album and ya'll suggest he work with another producer as if that somehow opens him up to working with one of ya'lls favorites.

What you personally would rather hear is your business. I'm sure everybody has producers that would like to hear Nas work with again, but a lot of us enjoy what he's doing with Hit Boy and understand suggesting he work with another producer is asinine.

Who brought up album sales?

Where did I say Hit Boy was an elite producer because of "In Paris"? Who cares if it was divisive? Not every rap fan likes the same type of music and that's where Nas fans clash because there's a large sector that like Nas over grimey beats. There's a sector that likes Nas over smoothed out beats. There's a sector that likes Nas over jazzy beats. There's a sector that likes a mix of all of it.

While I wouldn’t mind Nas working with another producer and hit boy isn’t my absolute favorite the fact that Nas with hit boy had made 4 straight dope albums 30 years in which is unprecedented is fine by me.

Everything with Nas has to come with a BUT.

Yeah it’s a dope album BUT it would be even better if he worked with blah blah

We can play that game forever and with anyone how about just enjoying the fact that amazingly 30 years in hes still somehow dropping good music

Love Nas and Hit-Boy together but I wouldn't mind hearing Nas with someone else.

Why is that making nikkas aggy in here? :gucci:

These nikkas is super sensitive. By saying you wanna hear Nas with a different producer, they take that as a criticism of the KD series. And we simply can't have that on The Coli. :hubie:

Whether it's for Magic 2 or KD4 later on, I would love to have 5 or 6 videos ready to drop within the 1-4 weeks after the album drops, like Hit did for his pops, and not 2-6 months after the album release like Nas does usually.. That's one of the major flaws his marketing team has had thru the years. Never understood the point of dropping a video so far after the release, this ain't the 90s no more, attention span of 90% of listeners only lasts a few days/weeks then they move on...

I think RARE came out really on perfect time, but for example, Michael & Quincy as well. But 30 dropping 3-4 months later was just too fukking late. Such an album deserved 5 or 6 videos, all within a few weeks. And I don't think Big Hit's videos cost that much. It's just in this era you need visuals, but you can still remain plain & simple, nothing too fancy, as long as it looks authentic, it'll work. Just look at Hit+Alchemist vid..
