Them nikkas was battling for King Of NY during the time and such a big tragedy happened on HIS release date of the Blueprint. I assumed he would’ve participated based on that alone. During this time I used it as ammo against him too cause it was the height of the battle. I was like “Jay don’t even care enough to be on shyt like this that’s why Nas the GOAT…”.. lol

Jay Blueprint album dropped on 9/11. Ain’t no excuse damn near every poppin NYC artist spoke on it. shyt Dipset had a whole movement based on it. Nas even rapped about it on Stillmatic as well. Closest was Jay being on Welcome to NYC and Cam and Juelz did all the heavy lifting as far as 9/11 references.

This a good question. I’m putting this year in the top 3. I’m riding the movement. You won’t hear a complaint out of me about the music etc… Nas is happy. The music sounds great. He has experimented with every sound from modern to old. Still a top notch lyricist and truly the only MC from his era still at this level.
If he puts out another album this year and gets the undisputed record for rappers with top 10 debuts i’m putting this year number 2 only under 96.
That would be an INCREDIBLE feat at 50 years old.
I think if he uses the KD2 blueprint with marketing with adding in some other marketing they did with other projects they can get him there. It will require some big features on the project though.
