Them nikkas was battling for King Of NY during the time and such a big tragedy happened on HIS release date of the Blueprint. I assumed he would’ve participated based on that alone. During this time I used it as ammo against him too cause it was the height of the battle. I was like “Jay don’t even care enough to be on shyt like this that’s why Nas the GOAT…”.. lolI remember seeing this video ONCE i think on MTV and somehow I KNEW Nas was gonna be on it. This is my first time seeing this in like 22 years lmao.
Why are you surprised Jay wasn’t on it? Jay was at the HEIGHT of his “Me me me drink in the wonder of ME” bag during this time. That nikka wasn’t gonna rap about anything that didn’t pertain to HIM
jay didn't participate because 9/11 happened after jay premiered Takeover that same year on summer jam...just put 2 and 2 together....you can't get both of them together during this time at all
jay did some freestyle about giving back to 9/11 victims separately, but the blueprint dropped the same day as 9/11, so he namedropped his album with 9/11 and said some of his album proceeds went to charity
having one side of the answers from nas point of view is not enough to get the full picture...just see the full scope of things of how things were
also there's old videos of nas talking about 9/11 and there is supposedly an unreleased track of nas rapping about 9/11 just to make sense of it all
Who remember this joint? Nas went crazy. I always found it strange that Jay didn’t participate. Song still gives me chills honestly cause of what was happening at the time.
This a good question. I’m putting this year in the top 3. I’m riding the movement. You won’t hear a complaint out of me about the music etc… Nas is happy. The music sounds great. He has experimented with every sound from modern to old. Still a top notch lyricist and truly the only MC from his era still at this level.Coli brehs

I think if he uses the KD2 blueprint with marketing with adding in some other marketing they did with other projects they can get him there. It will require some big features on the project though. If he puts out another album this year and gets the undisputed record for rappers with top 10 debuts i’m putting this year number 2 only under 96.
That would be an INCREDIBLE feat at 50 years old.
Song sucks besides Nas and Eve. Fred Durst's verse was embarrassing lol.
Speaking of awards, the Grammys should go ahead and hand Nas that Grammy for KD3
