My only gripe is that it’s not as good as KD3. The highs aren’t as high. But that not fair. It’s sort of the Illmatic effect. Nothing else can live up to it.
Magic 2 is dope. But my bar was set really high. Nas is as good as ever and carried the album. I actually felt Hit’s production wasn’t as good as KD3 or as good as Nas’ flows. It was still excellent. We’ve been spoiled.

First Magic is structured in a similar way, although they're sonically completely different. First half of both is less lyrical, more braggadocios and bumps harder.
I'll rather listen to 40-16 Building, Speechless and Meet Joe Black in the gym than the deeper tracks Wu for the Children, Dedicated, The Truth.
Same with Office Hours, Black Magic, Motion versus deeper/better tracks What it Really Means, Slow it Down, Pistols on your Album Cover on the back end of the album.

I ran back the first Magic right after and it’s so much better. I guess this one might grow on me.

After bumpin this album non stop since Thursday night.bokeem woodbine the joint , neck & neck with all this really means.abracadabra & black magic my joints too. These hands down my favorites

I can sort of see people being put off at first because it's a different vibe than Magic 2, but I don't understand when people say it should've had a different title, as the whole album is about different conceptions of magic whether it be Don Magic Juan, card tricks, Magic Johnson, not repeating tricks (hence the different sound) and so on. The title definitely fits.
I had this as a 4/5 after my first few listens but I have it at 4.5 now. I wish they would've let the beat to Pistols ride out a little bit though, that's a beat built for some ad libs.

The only reason certain people went in saying it shouldn’t be called magic is because those people went in thinking it would be the same sound as the last one. That was stupid on their behalf. If you are Nas fan, you should know Nas doesn’t follow the same script. Also this album came out in the summer versus Magic 1 coming out in the winter. People don’t logically think sometimes.

Imo kd2 then magic the best of the 5 , but magic 2 dope too.
