Ok. I don’t lose anything if it’s not true. And I dont think it takes anything away from him. But the structure and subject matter being very much 5 percent nation teachings led me to feel this way. And as long as I’ve listened to nas, he’s never delved that deep in that esoteric realm. He’s like the cats at the barbershop that throws out plausible conspiracy theories to an audience that’s prone to believe them because they don’t read :yeshrug:

I’m loving KD2 tho. He sounds more comfortable to me on this one.

Nas had been on the 5 percent Nation shyt since Illmatic and he’s also be on some abstract shyt since I Am era. That verse coulda fit on The Lost Tapes no hiccups. Jay Elec made the beat which is very off and unorthodox so most he did was tell Nas the best flow for it. But all them lyrics was Nas and nothing out of the realm of shyt Nas has said before.

You’ve never known Nas to rap about his own career, the critics wanting him to return to illmatic, and diss 50 Cent?

This illlogical idea that Jay Electronica wrote for Nas is crazy. Jay Elect writes reminiscent of Nas. NOT the other way around

That song is way too overproduced, LIG is flawless from tracks 9-to the end of the bonus tracks but I felt the same way about Queen’s Story, Nas was flowing his ass off but the beat too dramatic for my liking. Not a fan of the concept on Accident Murderer either. But LIG was Nas flowing and spitting at his best in a while. The production on KD2 is better IMO both both albums are great to classic

1000% spot on with this bro. Biggest problem with LIG is the overproduced beats (same issue with some of LT2 beats too.)

I said it earlier, Nas is at his very best when a dope beat is looped and he has room to just flow and do his thing, leave all that extra fancy stuff out of it.

Honestly in the past to me he’s make references in passing like “5er say theres pork in jello”. But I could be wrong. He’s made a lot of references over the years but I’m just glad this album is dope to me. I’ll probably cop it.

nikkas is really out here with NO PROOF touting shyt based on their “feelings” and “instinct” with no proof or attention to detail or even attention to Nas’s own previous work. It would be hilarious if it wasn’t so absolutely revolting

Lauryn had the best verse on the song (Nas was great too) but it’s comparing apples and oranges to me. Lauryn got 20 years of feelings to put down on paper. Long as you’re flow and delivery still on point, if you’re someone like Lauryn you’re going to drop a 10/10 verse particularly if subject matter about being away from the spotlight

Nas in that time written hundreds of verses so lot of thoughts already put down on paper for Nas.

Yeah but there’s a lot of MF Doom and Killah Priest in his pen too. Like, a whole lot.
