I love hearing Lauren's verse on this song and she still sounds great. But people are sleeping on Nas's verses here. Imo BOTH of his verses are doper than Lauren's.

I don't know where people are getting the ghostwriting thing from either. Not saying its impossible, but their verses don't have the same structure at all.

I'd disagree on that, I thought she had the best verse but Nas was still dope on it too. Reason I give her the W in part is the verse is 100% on the point, no detours or deviations. Nas kinda goes on tangents sometimes so you get the like...IG DMing and I'm like come on. And then right after that he hits you with that amazing riff about cops being bigots not wanting to write tickets...and you're like damn he's back on track. Second verse was dope too. But Lauryn dropped a bomb. Great track, collab, beat, hook, etc. Salute em both.

Even better...it was Nas that got her to do THIS. She has an album with Kanye that will never come out. She has an album with Black Milk that will never come out. Multiple tracks with all types of great, important artists that will never come out. It was NAS who got the greenlight. That's power and respect.

I knew dude would throw some back-handed compliments in there. For him to say "we know this isn't the most lyrical Nas of the past..." was not only an unnecessary thing to say, but not even valid. This album shows Nas hasn't lost a lyrical step and it's definitely the dopest album of the year, lyrically (and musically). Then Joe erroneously or "confusingly" says "we all thought he was finished after Ether". He probably meant to say Takeover but these media dudes throw stuff into the airwaves to confuse the masses and push false narratives. I believe someone mentioned how they further go on to say Jay has a better Catalogue than Nas? Aside from being another falsehood, they just had to throw that in there in a segment they were supposed to dedicate to KD2. SMH

I understand what Budden was TRYING to do but he’s not a savvy guy with his words (outside of rapping)

He was attempting to do what so many have erroneously done when it comes to Nas narrative. Present him as the underdog who everyone counts out until he comes and shuts up all the doubters. The entire review Joe is reflecting on how amazed he is by the album that he has to literally shut the fukk up and just take it in. Which is kind of crazy considering how much he praised Kings Disease Part 1.

Nas wrote her verse, I'm 99% sure
