But when has Large Professor or any other producer been "mad" at Nas for not getting production credits? :what: (Not counting 9th Wonder's Nas obsession). Large Pro ain't never been on no crab shyt, even when cats have dissed HIM, he's still level headed and works with them.

I can vouch for the Large Pro "beef" although I think it got squashed QUICK. Large Pro left a comment in one of Nas ig posts about being disrespected at the QB live event and it was harsh. Sth like "I don't know why I even bothered to show up, shoulda never put you on BBQ Smh".

It got deleted quick and they were bigging each other up not long after so mightve been a drunk misunderstanding, but it was 100% real.

Appreciate the info but that sounds like a personal beef over the event itself. How'd that morph into him being mad he didn't get production on the album?

Breh, where are you getting this info from? Is this direct information that you witnessed yourself? Cuz this is the first time I'm hearing about this. This sounds like something that somebody inferred from somewhere and ran with like it was tangible facts.

Pete Rock is an outlier, he's been throwing shots at everybody from Swizz Beats, to DJ Clue, to 9th Wonder, to numerous mumble rappers by name over the years. That's just Pete being Pete. :manny:

I get cats are excited about KD2 cuz it's a dope album, but what's up with so much shade being tossed at Illmatic producers and 90s era music in this thread whenever juxtaposed with today's sound? Is this some kind of preemptive strike against the "Nas has wack beats" narrative or something?

Large Pro was angry at the Nasir listening party and tweeted “Should have put someone else on Barbecue!!” But then he deleted it.

As soon as the title Kings Disease Part 2 was announced I have absolutely no clue why anyone would think any producer other than Hit Boy, you know the guy who did all of Kings Disease Part 1, would be doing the beats.

Q-Tip told Steve Stoute when he heard If I Ruled The World that he was ruining Nas career

Pete Rock bytched for 25 years about Nas not using his beats. Finally got TWO placements on Lost Tapes 2, and is now bytching AGAIN on social media during Nas’s debut weekend.

DJ Premier said “I guess Hip Hop really IS dead” in response to not being included on HHID.

A lot of these Illmatic producers threw shade at Nas over the years for him not using their beats. Like Nas owed them eternal placements because they made a classic album THIRTY YEARS ago. Thats not how art works. The driving force behind illmatic was always Nas prodigious lyrical talent, which is what made all of them want to form like Voltron in the beginning. Nas even begged Large Professor to executive produce the album and Pro told Nas he was going to have to do it himself. Well Nas DID IT himself (with assistance from Serch) and then moved on to bigger more ambitious plans for bis career. I mean lets REALLY keep it a buck. Pete Rock, Premier, Large and Pro are all masters of a particular sound and aesthetic. Frankly its a sound Nas mastered on his very first go round. So unless he’s specifically looking to recapture that sound (which he did with Premier several times afterward and Pro and Tip sporadically afterward) there’s not much creative incentive to work with people who shytted on your ambitions to grow and expand simply because they weren’t a part of it.

This is flames. I haven’t liked a nas album in a really long time. After multiple spins I like this shyt. Production is on point, it’s hard to say what the best tracks on this album are, most of the tracks are good. That Eminem verse was dope too
