I'm sure I'm late to replying to this and someone else has made this point but to me it's obvious: Nas is so next-level incredibly, unimpeachablly perfect as an MC that all they can criticize is the beats. Production is naturally a little more subjective than lyrical skill so it's easier to get away with nitpicking in that area.
