Yeah most seem to agree, they're out of ideas. Magic 2 is not bad but its like weaker versions of songs from the previous albums. Beats not as good this time either.

He must have more tracks with Hit than any other producer now.

I would love him to continue the one rapper one producer setup but with someone different. 5 in a row over a 3 year period feels too much like hes repeating the same subject matter over similar production. Hes Nas, he can take his time.

This is a better representation of Premier:

This is good l but nothing mind blowing. This is definetly retreading for Premier

I would say the records on the Mass Appeal EP he did with Wayne/Rick (which blended both their vocals) and maybe the Joey Badass record that fit him stood out along with Break Beats.

But my thing is the way Premier produces now..its good but like there's other people that can do a better version. Like I listen to that joint you played and Ive heard the other records he did with Griselda (Headlines, which I fux with) but Im also like Al, Statik all them dudes even Hit can do (Wave Gods)

The Phryme series is where he tried some things cause he was drawing frm other places like Highs and Lows and I dont know people feel bout that record but it sticks with him cause of Phonte's vocals on the hook

I dont know if they ran of ideas or they just got too confident on this one.

Maybe they just need to take a step back and evalutate. Problem is even if he come correct on the next one, there's like hint of a narrative now thats tiring

I think they need time. Hit needs time to sharpen some new beat styles. Nas needs to think about different topics than his rap career and who he hung out with in the 90s.

At the end of the day, if the next album is as good as KD2, 3 or Magic, I'll be into it. But I still want Nas to do an album with Large Professor and Premo or something, just pure boom bap for one album.

On the Alc debate, Alchemist does a lot of laid back, slow tempo beats these days. He started sounding very NY and gravitated back to LA smooth shyt. It would be interesting to see if he would switch it up for Nas. He definitely was able to give Armand Hammer something different that tailor fit them.

Yeah again I still strongly feel this is mostly good production on this, its just he cooked top shelf on the previous albums and it was more NY and more the beats Nas fans would want . It feels like they just got confident trying new things. Thats okay, I doubt it means a KD4 would be the same...but now they need have a think what to do.

My thing is it seems like Nas has hinted this is what he likes to do and what motivates him still rapping (Different flows and new sounds) and I dont know how the staunch fans who still anchor his audience gonna feel bout tht.

Which is why the Al talk might be moot.

One miss out of five isn’t bad at all but honestly want to hear him on other shyt now. It’s probably easier to knock the albums out quick with someone you’ve build that chemistry up with though.

Its only a miss to yall nyggas on here... lol. Yall dont represent the masses.. cut the bullshyt.

Mofos on here just thought it was gonna sound just like Magic 1. It didnt and instead of just taking that out the equation and really listening, nyggas just said it aint it.

I liked this album faster than KD3. KD3 started off slow as fuhk.

When I ran Magic 2 first listen, I was like wait a minute, this aint the same vibe. Went to bed and ran it back with a dif mindset. Shyt bangs...

I remember when nikkas complained about not putting enough music out. And nikkas use to complain about his beats.

Fans don’t know what they want. Let that nikka make whatever the fukk he wants. nikka 30 years in. I don’t give a fukk if he made a trap album. He still that nikka.

I also said that every Nas/Hit Boy album has outsold every Alchemist/insert rapper album. I said that Nas/Hit-Boy albums are more critically acclaimed than Alchemist/Insert rapper albums. I said Nas and Hit-Boy defeated Alchemist/Freddie Gibbs for the Grammy when they went head to head, the Grammy that Alchemist out of his OWN mouth said he desperately wanted to win.

So the combination of sales/acclaim/and accolades are all in favor in Nas and Hit Boy.

Why EXACTLY would Nas need to work with Alchemist again? What makes Alchemist NOT overrated on these boards when it comes to posters acting like he could give Nas something Hit Boy can’t when Hit and his production has literally given Nas EVERYTHING he’s been missing?

Like I said before, if you look at the results of Nas and Hit Boy’s work and think “Alchemist could somehow do better” you either a troll or you think the white man’s ice is colder. Simple as that.
You're starting to go into "need to wipe ya mouf" territory here. Slow down a tiny bit. It's all opinions.
