He's 50.. the fukk is he supposed to do?
He doesn't have the luxury to drop something every 3 years
He has nothing to prove
He's just having fun at this point

On the flip side,he doesn't have to deal with record labels BS,budgets and red tapes

I'm sure he wishes he had this level of freedom 20 years ago

On a serious note..I hope he's not sick or something
Chadwick Bozeman(may Allah rest his soul) put in a lot of work after hia diagnosis
:mjcry:

Huh? The fukk you talking about? The double time flow is older than Nas career. It ain’t a new thing. The beats is updated but cats had that flow in the late 80s. Nas been had double time songs since the late 90s. It ain’t new to him

Nas is actually doing triplet flows, which is something he was doing on "Message To The Feds" in 2004 with Street's Disciple. I don't get the complaints because he actually sounds dope doing it. Yet, because triplet flows are common place now, people think he's attempting to sound modern as if triplet flows weren't common to Memphis Hip Hop in the 90's or that Bone Thugs weren't doing them in the 90's.

Nas fumbled the double time though on "Big Things" and I think he attempted it on "Big Girl", but on "Heaven", he was flawless with it.

Imagine Andre 3K links up with Metro Boomin and becomes so inspired that he finally puts the flutes away and hits the booth and knocks out FIVE albums in a 3 year period.

I wonder how many “fans” would demand he start working with Organized Noize.

Or how many would say “Its time to move on to Mr. Collipark”

They’d be laughed out of The Booth

Alchemist ain’t giving Nas the fire Hit Boy has. And if he was capable guess what? Nas would have worked with him. He didn’t. He chose Hit Boy, and it was for a reason. Apparently a GREAT reason considering all of the success and critical acclaim.

Go run up them Boldy James streams if you like Alchemist so much

Or Benny the Butcher and Kendrick Lamar streams let’s not act like ALC still isn’t getting placentas on big albums.

Before Nas got with Hit Boy I would have agreed with Alchemist, I even thought Harry Fraud and yeah Black Milk is on Mass Appeal too Just someone to get him back in the good graces with core hip hop fans because the modern sound was too much of trap and older fans werent gonna appreciate him. Then suddenly this happened combo with Hit happened.

But I think Nas is always gonna want someone who can give him modern stuff so he doesnt sound dated while also still giving him the type of production either he likes (throwback) or kinda is a template to what people have said for years he should have rapped on (Hit can do an impression of like a Just, Primo, Ye, Al etc which is probably why he gets hit with the AI stuff but like who fukking cares if the music still knocks?)

When I see people complain about his beats its always some weird shyt. Like when does Nas rap over too many trap beats? Its probably been a few across these albums. What was wrong with the beats on Magic 1 or KD 2? Like because he used FL rather than a MPC?:childplease:

Just feels likes people will be happy with the name they read rather than the beat they hear. And right now people are gonna pretend Hit gave him nikkas in Paris for 5 albums and are now are not looking forward. So now instead of a dude who does an impression of their favorite producer they want the actual producer who unless we talking about Al, probably aint as sharp as they was

Would rather have metro boomin or alchemist on the next one but that'll probably never happen

Ths is what I mean by above, like that would be awesome. But that would also be like what Hit gives him, paert modern and part classic just by 2 producers. Theres a couple of songs on Magic 2 that remind me of Al a little

The problem with the 30+ hip hop consumer is they want the same meals from 20 years ago with ingredients that are no longer present...

People are older
Lives have changed
Technology has evolved
Artists have evolved

I fux wit Primo, but he can't be throwing Nas those faux 99 Honda accord dust beats and expect Nasir to fukk wit it..

And that's the root of the issue..

Primo gonna have to get in a different production bag

Peoole are being intentionally disingenuous in this thread and other Nas ones, hardly anyone is mentioning Primo, the producers who most posters are mentioning they’d like see working with Nas are Metro Boomin and Alchemist mostly who are still dropping heat in 2023.

Like I said earlier, thats kinda like still working with Hit Boy as he uses both of their styles. Its all these other elements other beat making that a producers that Im curious if they can do for him (finding new and interesting pockets for him, sequencing the album etc)

Hes more likely to try something totally new to challenge himself like Kayatandra or something

Just because a producer can do different styles doesn't mean he does the style as well as said producer he’s trying to imitate, I think Hit Boy is a top 5 producer right now but Metro Boomin can do other styles as well, Alchemist not so much but he does his style better than everyone else including Hitboy.

At the same time We Gon Make It doesn’t sound like Johnny P’s Caddy, so I think most of the top producers can do multiple styles themselves.
