Cable #69-70
We last saw Cable when he seemingly died fighting the Harbinger or Apocalypse. However, he was saved by chronologists existing between the bands of time. Here he found Madame Sanctity, a major player in the Sisterhood of Askani. She was to be put to death, but Cable managed to change their minds. He then teleported back to earth to bring The Twelve together, where he found his waitress friend Stacey becoming acquainted with his home and Blaquesmith. He brings her back to her appartment where they are attacked by someone from Nathans future who feels he was betrayed by Cable. They fight, but the dude winds up blowing himself up.

Generation X #51
Banshee is held hostage by Hunter Brawn and his bodyguards. Hunter, however, realizes his mistake when his grandson, Tristan, hands him over a brochure from the school he went to visit, and that Sean is its headmaster. Meanwhile, Emma and the other kids have returned to the school after their heavy battle against the Dark Beast, but can’t find Sean anywhere. Artie demonstrates his projection powers and shows the kids how Sean got caught and where he is now. Emma suggests that she goes out there alone to rescue Sean, and wants to leave the kids behind. Adrienne doesn’t agree and she even gives the kids upgraded uniforms with facial masks in order to protect their identities.

However, Gaia didn’t get one, as after talking to Nate Grey she understood that the school isn’t what she needs right now, and wants to discover the world by doing. Soon afterwards, the kids ditch Emma and leave alone in her plane, not trusting her anymore after they learned of her past with the Dark Beast. They find Sean, but discover that Brawn has a protection armor of himself, and even a costumed bodyguard. After a battle, Brawn calms down and Sean suggests that they let Tristan decide if he wants to join the school or not. Tristan is more than happy to join, and they leave together.

Also currently a vampire is in New Orleans, he attacked one of the Antiquary’s slave children. With the Antiquary absent, his ministers make a deal with the LeBeaus. The Pig sends the Mengo Brothers after a young boy named Shiro, who is the source of the yellow, mindcontrolling gas seen last issue.

Rogue breaks loose from her restrains, together the couples defeats the X-Cutioner. With his sensors damaged, Denti mistakes his own people for the two mutants and kills them, leaving him with a problem. According to his own rules, he should now execute himself. Uncanny X-Men #368-369 & X-Men v2 #88
Wolverine runs through Danger Room scenarios, each time trying to kill Magneto. Charles Xavier, meanwhile, visits Dr. Huxley at the United Nations but his brief conversation doesn’t go well. The X-Men prepare for Joseph’s funeral, and Rogue in particular is taking his death hard. Wolverine won't join them. Charles provides everyone with a mental glimpse of what Joseph was feeling when he died, and it moves not only them, but also Wolverine and Sister Maria de la Joya as far away as Brazil. After the funeral, the X-Men join Charles in the Danger Room as he tries to dissuade Wolverine from his current course of actions. As they chat, inexplicably, an alien appears and whisks them away to another dimension.

The X-Men are teleported by Ejulp to a strange, other-dimensional world. Traditional laws of physics do not apply here and their mutant abilities work much differently and, after using her powers, Storm is rendered unconscious. Ejulp explains to the team that Storm is being kept in a protective trance by the Trion, the sentient manifestations of the forces that comprise this dimension. Black Tom Cassidy also shows up, much to everyone’s surprise, and explains that the Juggernaut has been possessed by an evil force and is now crushing his way across dimensions. It was Black Tom who sent Ejulp to retrieve the X-Men. While Ororo – still locked in her dream – meets a younger version of her self, Xavier’s astral form and Wolverine – the two accidentally merged after touching each other – together with Shadowcat and Nightcrawler pursue Juggernaut and soon discover him. Sadly, he is now of gigantic proportions.

8uafPyF.jpg

The Trion have entrapped Ororo inside a dream to prevent her interfering in their plans. Her fellow X-Men have the job of halting the giant Juggernaut’s progress as he crashes from dimension to dimension. Ejulp has taken the X-Men to her own dimension, and both Charles Xavier and Wolverine, joined into one body, try and stop Cain. They manage to enter Cain Marko’s psyche, where they separate and persuade Cain that the dark entity that has possessed him is not to be feared. Cain stands up to the entity, and now free from its possession, causes the giant Juggernaut that has been crashing through dimensions to explode, opening a rift in the fabric of time and space. Ororo figures out what the Trion are trying to do and overcomes them, using her altered powers to heal the rift. Ejulp teleports the team back to their own world. However, when they arrive, things aren’t quite the way the left them.

X-Force #87-90
Five years ago, Christopher Aaronson declined a position at the Massachusetts Academy, angering the White Queen. He departed, assuring Tarot (one of the Hellions) that he would return for her.

Domino finds Bedlam (Aaronson's brother) in a pool hall, revealing that she thinks she has found his brother. She explains that his parents were information analysts for the National Security Department, and has tracked down their handler. Bedlam is allowed to talk to the elderly man, but makes no sense from him. Tarot, who supposedly died with the other Hellions, is visited by a mysterious man who tells her that he doesn’t like her leaving the house. Meltdown is introduced to her father’s new wife, and is horrified to find that he is part of the Triune understanding. Moonstar meets with Jennifer Kale to discuss her new powers, and Jennifer reveals that Moonstar is tapping into some kind of cosmic force. Domino and Bedlam arrive at the location they received from the retirement home, and after Bedlam remembers the last time he saw his brother, they are attacked by Magma, and a strange techno-organic being, before Bedlam’s brother reveals himself, explaining that his power is to cause static to functions of the brain. Calling himself King Bedlam, he explains that he had been identified a mutant by the National Security Department when he was six, and what he had been doing since then. He adds that he was unaware his brother was a mutant, otherwise he would have asked him join them. He then introduces four of the five members of his team - Magma, Paradigm, Tarot and Switch - the New Hellions.

7oesj18.jpg

The rest of X-Force have arrived at the vineyard where Bedlam and Domino have located Bedlam’s brother. Cannonball tries to connect with Magma, still calling her Amara, she tells him to call her Allison Crestmere, as that is her real name, while Moonstar fails to get any emotional reading from the mysterious Paradigm. Feral, the final member of the New Hellions, appears, and sets about arguing and making snide remarks to her former teammates, who are surprised she is no longer in the Vault. Domino surprisingly tells the others to give him the benefit of the doubt, as she thinks King Bedlam’s ideas are visionary. King Bedlam explains that his vision is to end the war on mutant-kind, and asks X-Force to stay at his home overnight. Proudstar goes to meet Tarot and she is still cryptic about her resurrection, but does reveal that she did die with their teammates, but unlike them is forced to live her life again and again to atone for the sins of her past. She also reveals that she owes King Bedlam her life. Bedlam meets with his brother, who reveals that he has liberated the Armageddon Man from storage, and that he is going to use him to demonstrate to the world that the Hellions mean business. X-Force re-group and discuss what they learned during their exploration, when suddenly Switch appears, revealing that Domino is an impostor, and that he is Domino. Domino accuses him of lying, and they battle, but when Domino is ready to kill Switch, Siryn knows that something is wrong, and uses her sonic scream on them, disrupting Switch’s power, so Domino’s mind returns to her own body. Bedlam is confused about what to do, before X-Force find the Hellions in the distillery, before Magma attacks them, only for Paradigm to transform them into techno-organic statues. Feral warns King Bedlam to kill X-Force, but Paradigm wants to study them. King Bedlam unveils the Armageddon Man, boasting that he has power to bring the world to its knees, causing Bedlam to take his pills again, wondering what he has done in siding with his brother.

L44WLge.jpg

Most of X-Force are under the control of the techno-organic Paradigm, who is forcing them to prepare the Armageddon Man for release on the world. Meanwhile, Feral and Switch have abducted Senator Danville, and bring him to the New Hellions base, where Paradigm is assessing the abilities of X-Force, however when he connects with Moonstar, it is Moonstar who learns Paradigm’s unfortunate origin. The Senator is shocked to see the Armageddon Man being released, for he knows of his power, and King Bedlam blackmails the Senator into contacting his associates in Washington to meet his demands. Bedlam does a runner, but Tarot finds him and tells him that he has the power to stop his brother, bur Bedlam does not seem interested. Tarot meanwhile uses her powers on Paradigm, which forces him to release his hold over X-Force. Moonstar uses her quantum powers on him, forcing him to go fetal. King Bedlam is furious at Tarot for aiding X-Force, and is about to punch her when Bedlam comes to her rescue. X-Force and the New Hellions are about to do battle, when the Armageddon Man breaks free from his restraints.

mDmQTrO.jpg

Storms rage across the West Coast due to the release of the Armageddon Man. King Bedlam uses a device to psychically control the Armageddon Man. Cannonball flies off to distract the Armageddon Man, while Feral reveals that she has the Legacy Virus. X-Force and the New Hellions engage in battle, but as Siryn tries to take down King Bedlam, Feral slashes her throat.

H25XwGd.jpg

Moonstar immediately takes command and orders Sunspot to fly Siryn to a hospital. Meltdown takes on Feral, while Domino takes out Switch. Magma continues to annoy her former teammates, before Cannonball takes her out of the picture. Tarot reluctantly battles Proudstar, before Bedlam makes a surprising return, destroying the device which his brother uses to control the Armageddon Man. King Bedlam reveals that he was responsible for their parents death. Moonstar helps the Senator and finds out how to stop the Armageddon Man, before King Bedlam, Feral, Switch and a reluctant Tarot all make their escape. Moonstar tells her teammates what to do, and they are aided by Magma, before a combination of Moonstar, Cannonball and Proudstar’s abilities take the Armageddon Man down. They bind him in carbon rods, before Paradigm appears, he speaks to Moonstar, before leaving. The Senator convinces X-Force to leave the Armageddon Man with him, so they do, warning him that they will be watching what he does. They leave, and pick up Bedlam on the way out, offering him a second chance. Arriving at the hospital, it is revealed that Siryn may never speak again.

X-Men v2 #89-90 + Uncanny X-Men #370
The X-Men find themselves transported in a place that is not their Earth, yet curiously imitates New York City. Nightcrawler and Shadowcat soon discover that this counterfeit version of New York is flooded with doppelgangers of superheroes. Kitty manages to knock out her own doppelganger and replaces her among the impostors, while Kurt teleports Kitty’s copycat back to Xavier for interrogation. Kitty stumbles on the doppelgangers of Captain Marvel, Adam Warlock and Thunderbird, who capture her. Kitty realizes all these impostors are Skrulls, and these three in particular have severed ties with the others. Meanwhile, after examining Kitty’s doppelganger, Xavier also realizes they are Skrulls. Even worse, the X-Men were apparently displaced in time, as well as in space: they have been transported to Skrulls’ homeworld just as it is about to be consumed by Galactus! Meanwhile, Gambit decides to wander around on his own, hoping to get medical treatment for the injured Marrow.

AEO5RLJ.jpg

Charles wants to warn the Skrulls of the Galactus arrival via radio, but the Skrulls do not trust his voice. As he transmits, a passing Skrull ship attacks them and they are forced to the moon’s surface once again. Though they evade the ship, they are attacked by a horde of Skrulls in the forms of the Imperial Guard and the Starjammers. While they fend them off, Gambit uses a Skrull doctor to try and treat Marrow. The doctor is killed as soon as he sets up the machine into which Marrow has been placed, and Gambit figures he must keep them away from her. As the X-Men fight off the Skrulls, with more and more arriving for the fight, they look to the skies and see Skrull ships exploding. It’s the work of Nova, the herald of Galactus. He has arrived and wishes to consume the homeworld. Charles has no alternative but to try and communicate with Galactus himself.

q6djM15.jpg

His psi-form leaves his body behind and reaches the homeworld, where he implores Galactus to spare this planet, appealing to his finest qualities. Despite his efforts, though, Galactus rebuffs him.

sCwcBfU.jpg

Nearby, the previously injured Marrow emerges from the healing medical chamber Gambit placed her in… only now she looks beautiful and with a controlled bone growth! Eventually, the X-Men gather together and Shadowcat pilots the last remaining Skrull lifeboat away moments before Galactus consumes the entire world. Struggling to recover from the shock of bearing witness to this genocide, the team tries to figure out how to return home, considering they are stranded several years in the past. Shadowcat eventually places everyone in suspended-animation, leaving the ship in auto-pilot and programming it to wake them up when they reach their own time and planet. When the team wakes up, they find out that they are, indeed, entering the Earth’s atmosphere.

X-Man #53-54
Nate Grey is vacationing with Cyclops and Jean Grey in Alaska. He wakes from a nightmare in which he was back in the Age of Apocalypse, under attack from the Infinites. They continue up the mountain when a deformed Infinite falls from above. As they reach the next ridge, they find Infinites, humans and combinations of the two frozen in the snow. Then, they discover the protective sea walls from the Age of Apocalypse embedded in another part of the mountain. The three powerful mutants are then attacked by some surviving Infinites, and a battle ensues. Cyclops, Jean and Nate trek towards the sea wall, unaware that they are being stalked by a very large and powerful Infinite called Hatchet-9. The trio enter the sea wall, and Nate introduces Cyclops and Jean to his old home, however they are now powerless thanks to the nullification grid. They split up, with Jean going to locate the nullification grid and switch it off, while Cyclops and Nate go to the lower levels to find the Infinite replicator. Jean finds the nullification grid, and realizes that it is malfunctioning. Nate wants to destroy the Infinites before they are fully formed, but Cyclops realizes that Jean is in trouble. At the nullification grid, Jean does her best to dodge the attacks of Hatchet-9. Cyclops and Nate arrive just in time to help her though, and as Cyclops gets Jean to safety, Nate engages Hatchet-9 in combat. Nate tricks Hatchet-9 and he fires his weapons at the nullification grid, blowing it up. Hatchet-9 is seemingly destroyed, but the Infinites complete their “birthing” and swarm around Cyclops, Jean and Nate, who engage them in battle now that their powers are restored. They move the battle outside the sea wall. The heroes are able to work together successfully, and cause the mountain to cave in, sucking the sea wall inside it, and the Infinites. In the process, Nate blacks out, and finds himself in the Age of Apocalypse with Forge and Sonique. He speaks to them, before waking. Cyclops and Jean are with him, and they continue on their trek through the mountain - together.

X-Force #91
Siryn spends her day in various parts of San Francisco, dealing with the loss of her voice. Desperately upset, she buys some alcohol, and is ready to drink it to make the hurt go away, but instead she attends an alcoholics anonymous meeting. Meanwhile, Banshee arrives to X-Force and after some brief reminiscing, they go looking for her. Sunspot and Meltdown get into another argument, which results in Meltdown dumping Sunspot and walking away, before Sunspot is picked up by the INS, who tell him he is in the country illegally and must come with them. Domino is approached by a Detective who has been keeping tabs on her since the bank robbery incident in Washington. But before he can follow through, Domino mysteriously vanishes. Banshee leaves, while Meltdown informs everyone Sunspot is cooling off somewhere after she dumped him. Later that night, Siryn returns to warehouse, and hands Proudstar a letter in which she explains that she is going to stay with a distant aunt, and a sad Proudstar watches his best friend leave.

Uncanny X-Men - X-Men v2 91 - X-Men Annual 1999
on the way to earth from space, Xavier suffers from nightmares about the X-Men’s past, and future. He wakes to a present in which he has failed to save the lives of eight billion Skrulls, and also that of Joseph. Marrow is acting much nicer due to her recent good looks. Kitty heads for Muir Island, and gives Rogue a call as they travel. Meanwhile on Earth, Machine Man is caught by S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives who wish to use his parts on the new Project: Deathlok. Nick Fury discovers what’s been going on without his permission, and is furious. Major R. Sole informs him that he is the project coordinator, and made the decision in his absence. He also made the decision to follow up on strange occurrences on Muir Island. The X-Men arrive on the island, but Charles(acting strange) departs soon after with Storm, Wolverine, Gambit and Marrow. The former Excalibur members remain behind, and look for Douglock. They find traces of him at the guesthouse, and then discover some ash he has created. On the island’s south shore, Douglock emerges from the ground and takes out two S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.

NuYJTQX.jpg

A restless Rogue welcomes the X-Men, who proceed to examine Marrow. However, her bio-scans reveal nothing alarming. Meanwhile, aboard the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier, Major Sole gives his audience a demonstration of their newest fighting machine: Deathlok. Just then, a S.H.I.E.L.D. scout ship that was investigating Muir Island returns to the helicarrier and its two pilots, both enslaved by Douglock’s Techno-Virus, begin infecting every agent they come across. Douglock himself is being controlled by the nefarious Red Skull, although he struggles to recover his identity.

5PubtEs.jpg

In Muir Island, Shadowcat, Colossus and Nightcrawler discover remnants of Douglock’s techno-organic conversion process. They also discover a tracking device, which leads them to the helicarrier. The trio then infiltrates the helicarrier, in quest of Douglock. Inside, as chaos takes over and infected agents are hunting down the uninfected ones, Director Nick Fury tries to come up with a plan to tackle the situation. Meanwhile, the Red Skull forces Major Sole to develop neural implants similar to the ones Douglock has created, which will enable him to command an army. Douglock, unable to free himself from the Red Skull’s control, commands Deathlok to kill him. Shadowcat arrives and tries to talk Douglock out of suicide. Elsewhere, Colossus and Machine Man free the imprisoned SHIELD agents, while Nightcrawler and Nick Fury confront the Red Skull. When Nightcrawler teleports the Red Skull’s techno-organic hand away, his hold over Douglock disappears. The remaining X-Men arrive and help most of the crew escape. However, Red Skull manages to escape with a few SHIELD agents under his command.
