All is well until she hears Mystique laugh in her head. Rogue discovers that Mystique is on Muir Isle. Xavier tries to contact Moira but discovers that he cannot reach her. On Muir Isle, Wolfsbane discovers Mystique and goes to alert the X-Men. Cable and the X-Men continue to watch Kelly, who is speaking in Boston. Kelly suddenly tells the people that they should not persecute mutants but, before he can continue, the Brotherhood of Mutants attack. As Rogue, Wolverine and Bishop reach Muir Isle, the entire island explodes! Unbeknownst to the X-Men, Mystique has mutated the Legacy Virus to only affect humans and plans on unleashing her new disease.

Cable is doubting if joining the X-Men was a right decision. Thinking back to an incident years ago, when he saved a very young Rogue from a few mutant-hating boys who tried to kill her, but then left her behind. He thinks that maybe her life would have been different if he had taken her along. Cable thinks that this was just one of many bad decisions in his life. His thoughts are interrupted by Avalanche, Blob and the Post crashing in on Senator Kelly’s speech. Cable tries his best to protect the senator and telepathically alerts Beast and Gambit, who are on the roof as back-up. The tide turns and now the X-Men gain the upper hand, when suddenly Cable recognizes a terminally ill man observing the battle. It’s Pyro, who is dying from the Legacy Virus. He points Cable to there being a fourth Brotherhood member in the female Mastermind and, indeed, she has been altering their perceptions. Cable takes the illusionist out but Post is already close enough to shoot Kelly once and for all. His powers flaring up a final time, Pyro engulfs Post in flame, killing him. Before he dies, Pyro urges Senator Kelly to change his anti-mutant views. Impressed by the former villain’s heroic act, Kelly promises that he will try to improve human/mutant relations.

Just as Rogue, Wolverine and Bishop arrive on Muir Island, the lab complex blows up right in front of them. The Toad is easily defeated and Bishop finds Sabretooth just in time to stop him from killing Wolfsbane, who is stuck among the debris. Having absorbed some of the explosion’s force, Bishop has enough energy stored within himself to blast Sabretooth two times, knocking him out. He frees Wolfsbane, ordering her to search for Moira, and runs into what seems to be senator Kelly. Bishop and Kelly argue quite a bit about their views on mutants, until Wolverine interrupts, attacking “Kelly,” who is actually Mystique in disguise. However, Bishop was aware of this and had tried to get through to her with words, rather than violence. In the confusion, she slips away, leaving the two X-Men to search for the missing Moira. Finally, they find her among the ruins, badly wounded, possibly not to survive the day. However, Moira has disturbing news: Mystique’s tampering with the Legacy Virus gave her the right idea for a cure. Outside, Rogue witnesses Mystique use Forge’s Neutralizer Gun on the unsuspecting Wolfsbane, permanently negating her mutant powers. Mystique insanely explains that, once her Legacy Virus has killed all humans, Earth will truly belong to the mutant race and, with the Gun, she can keep them all in check. Rogue tries to reason with her adoptive mother, who at first seems to give in but then rams a knife into Rogue’s gut, leaving her for dead. When Bishop and Wolverine arrive, they are caught in a Mexican stand-off, Bishop ready to use shoot Mystique with his own weapon, while Mystique threatens to Neutralizer on Logan, which would kill him as his healing factor is tied to his life energies. The situation is solved by Rogue coming around and stabbing Mystique with the bone claws she absorbed from Logan.

Rogue, Bishop, Wolverine and Rahne fly across the Atlantic on a jet to get back to the mansion to deliver the dying Moira MacTaggart, who holds the cure for the Legacy Virus in her head. Rogue begins the surgery on Moira, but the X-Men head right into a storm, which makes things more difficult. While no one is around, Wolfsbane promises the unconscious Mystique that, when she kills her, she will make sure she screams. At the mansion Colossus is not happy and begins to realize that the dream of peaceful coexistence will never be fulfilled. Xavier talks to Colossus and apologizes for replacing the Russian’s dream with his own, but Colossus tells him not to and that it was his choice to join and stay with the X-Men. Rogue realizes that they will not make it to the mansion in time and is about to absorb Moira to get the data, but finally Xavier hears Moira’s calls in her mind. Xavier and Jean reach Moira and the two lovers begin the data transfer, but Xavier begins to flat line, as he does not want to live without Moira. Kelly begins his new speech on equality with mutant kind, but Cable temporarily leaves him to save Xavier. Cable and Jean convince Xavier to let Moira go, who finally passes away, after announcing her love for Charles. Cable returns to Kelly just in time to see him assassinated, not by a mutant, but by a human.

Cable #88-92
Cable visits the grave of his recently murdered friend Moira MacTaggert. He is having trouble dealing with her death, and recalls their experiences together. Later he catches a cab to a graveyard, where he is to meet someone Storm wanted him to talk with. That person is Nightcrawler, another man who was friends with Moira. As Cable didn’t attend her funeral, Nightcrawler reads a passage from the Bible which gives him some closure. Cable quits the X-Men, and suggests to Storm that the two of them go out for dinner and see a show together, and Storm agrees. Elsewhere, Cable’s activities are being monitored by a mysterious organization of women called the Dark Sisterhood, who are involved with mobsters, one of whom has been double crossing them, so the leader of the Dark Sisterhood, the Dark Mother, gives him a stern warning, and tells him that his family and all of his associates will be killed.

Cable has a training session with Shin who informs Cable of the organization called the Dark Sisterhood. Around the area, Cable is being monitored by members of the Dark Sisterhood. At the safe house, Cable confronts Blaquesmith about the Dark Sisterhood, but Blaquesmith is very vague in his response. Irene meets with the Beast, as she does some research on Cable’s infancy and the Techno-Organic Virus. On the way home, Cable confronts a homeless women, who reveals herself as one of the Sisterhood, and is wielding a psimitar. Cable rushes off to the safe house and is angry and demands to know what Blaquesmith’s connection to the Dark Sisterhood is. Blaquesmith explains his connection, namely that he met the organization a time before he and Cable were reunited in this time, and that he believed their goals were similar, so he provided them with technology, like the psimitar, and it was only later that he realized it was the Dark Mother and her Sisterhood.

Kjuq8WL.jpg

Cable opens a hatch in the safe house which leads to tunnels beneath the city. He gives his two friends instructions on how to get to a car which will take them to the new safe house. He gives Irene a weapon and tells Blaquesmith that he is not sure he can trust him anymore. Making their way through the tunnels, they are unaware that they are being followed by one of the Sisterhood, who confronts them and claims that she wants sanctuary. Indeed, a team of the Sisterhood has invaded the safe house, while Cable is still setting some explosives. They attack him, but are no match for his skills. Irene and Blaquesmith learn that Sister Bonita wants sanctuary because she failed in her mission earlier when confronting Cable, and punishment is death. Sister Bonita then reveals that the Dark Mother fears Cable, but that they were never told why. As Cable continues to set the explosives in his safe house, he sees visions of his dead wife, and more of the Sisterhood attack him. He continues to fight them relentlessly, while the Dark Mother appears in the tunnel, and slays Sister Bonita. Irene and Blaquesmith make it to their getaway car, still unaware why the Dark Mother wants Cable, who manages to leave his safe house, which explodes behind him. Irene and Blaquesmith’s car was shot into a river. Blaquesmith disappears, and Irene, psi-shielded from the Sisterhood, bobs up and down under the dock.

Cable arrived at one of the Sisterhood’s bases. Inside, he finds many members of the Sisterhood, and his superb fighting skills takes them down with ease. In another room, numerous crooked gang leaders are being spoken to by one of the sisters, but Cable intrudes on the discussion, and gives them some information about how the Sisterhood became so powerful - because they inflict themselves on as many organizations as they can, influencing many, but giving nothing in return. He tells them that eventually, the world will be living under the rule of the Dark Mother, a tyrannical dictator. The Dark Mother then appears, and murders the gangsters. She disappears when Cable calls her a fool. Cable knows that this is a war, and gives the Dark Mother herself a warning.

Meanwhile, GW Bridge is summoned to a hearing regarding why he let Cable escape capture on more than one occasion. One of the generals is clearly under the influence of the Sisterhood, and under pressure to get information from GW. However, all records of Cable have been erased from their database, and GW is excused. Later GW Bridge is summoned to a meeting with General Deutsch, who informs him that Generals Austin and Sherman are now out of the picture, and that GW must either face a court martial or be relocated to Alaska. GW is certain that something is going on, but agrees to go to Alaska, determined to make contact with Cable.

Irene Merryweather calls an important phone number Cable gave her in case of extreme emergencies. She is soon rescued by Cable’s associates Casper and Wendy. They run various scans of her to ensure that the Dark Mother isn’t tracing Irene, before revealing that they have already faked her death for her, and explain that she needs to take a new identity if she wants to return to the real world, otherwise remain hidden forever. At the Xavier Institute, Jean Grey is concerned about Cable’s mysterious disappearance, and the Beast reports that one of Cable’s safe houses has exploded. They are curious as to why the Professor is not as worried as they are about Cable, and Charles points out that no one else has ever heard about the Dark Sisterhood, and that Senator Kelly’s assassin has died in prison, with the words “Cable made me do it” on his cell wall.

At college, Rachel Summers is convinced by two classmates to attend a Students Against Mutants rally, and is surprised to learn that Cable has been accused of killing Senator Kelly. Preparing for the rally, Rachel arms herself with a weapon.

Tonight, Secretary of Defense, Gina Anderson is at the head of the campaign against Cable, and plans to speak to the President about him. And, Cable contemplates his mission against the Dark Mother and wonders why she hates him so much. He is prepared to do whatever it takes to bring her down.

Gambit & Bishop: Sons of the Atom Mini-Series #1-6
Bishop has a nightmare about him and Gambit fighting Cyclops and Iceman who have turned against them. Xavier discovers that it was not a dream, but his mind had slipped into the future. Bishop is taken to the lab and examined; turns out that a symbiote is living beneath his skin. Gambit returns from a date with Rogue, suddenly the mansion explodes and seconds later is standing again – something strange is going on. Gambit is suspicious of his teammates, who tell him that Bishop has been infected by some symbiote. He tries to leave but Xavier and the X-Men attack. Bishop sides with Gambit when he sees that Storm is powering up for a killing stroke. They remember that Storm and the others left the mansion to search for Destiny’s diaries and suddenly these X.-Men fade away; they were only illusions. Only Xavier, Beast and Nightcrawler remain, but they are under some mental control. Bishop and Gambit think they are up against Styfe and leave the mansion. Gambit asks Bishop to trust his judgement, and they leave the X-men behind to depart to New Orleans. Once there Gambit admits to only having an idea that might possibly help, much to Bishop’s anger. They enter a mausoleum in a beautiful cemetery, and inside they find the Witness, who is an old friend of Gambit. Bishop is shocked, as he knows the Witness from the future, but always thought he was an aged Gambit. The Witness states that not everything is like it seems and then reveals that Stryfe followed the two X-men. He is cowering on the floor behind them, begging for help.

uKMiOzW.jpg

Stryfe has followed Bishop and Gambit to ask for help, yet Bishop gets angry and wants to fight him, for he has caused the deaths of many people. Gambit convinces him to hear Stryfe out, and he explains his history and how he only was considered the clone or the imitation of Cable. Therefore he started their enemity and later in demented state created the Legacy Virus which he now regrets. Styfe needs the X-Men’s help, because Cable is hunting him to kill him. Cable attacks the group with growing techno-organic material. Bishop and Gambit try to fight it, but are completely engulfed by it.

Ap9zovd.jpg

Suddenly it disappears and they are told that Cable has carried Stryfe away, apparently to kill him. Gambit deduces that to prevent Stryfe from ever coming back to life, Cable will kill him at a nexus point of time – the Witness’s mausoleum. They head to the graveyard, which has been completly turned into techno-organic material. Bishop and Gambit jump over the techno-organic stuff and enter the mausoleum. They find Cable, who made Stryfe experience every death he ever caused. Gambit and Bishop want to prevent Cable from killing Stryfe, who now explains the Bete Noir inside of Bishop. It’s an ancient evil energy that was banished to earth’s core by the Phoenix Force, but bonded itself to Bishop in the moment he returned from the future. It attempts to free itself through his energy-related mutant power. Before they can decide what to do with Stryfe, the Bete Noir erupts from Bishop’s chest. The Bete Noir erupts from Bishop’s chest, but Styfe and Cable contain it in a TK field. Bishop in contact with the evil energy knows its plan to kill everyone on earth and asks Gambit to kill him, to prevent it from getting free. Stryfe has another option, he absorbs the Bete Noir into himself and after apologizing for all his deeds dies of the power overload.

Both threats dealt with, Cable leaves. Bishop and Gambit want to check on the Witness, but he has already departed.

Death of Colossus

X-Men v2 #109-110 & Uncanny X-Men #390
On Christmas Eve, a group of X-Men have a snowball fight in Salem Center, which eventually leads to Psylocke and Thunderbird rolling down a hill, where Neal and Betsy start to flirt, much to the annoyance of Warren. Storm meets with Gambit and Beast to discuss the diaries of Destiny and Storm decides that the diaries must be found, but Xavier must never know. That night, Betsy meets Warren at the wreckage of his penthouse, where he confronts her about Neal and breaks up with her. Betsy tries to convince Warren that she has no feelings for Neal, but Warren disagrees and tells her that their relationship is going nowhere. In Japan, Wolverine goes to Mariko’s grave and is found by Viper, who delivers a message from the missing Shadowcat telling him she is okay. That night at the mansion, the X-Men gather to celebrate. Storm handpicks a group of X-Men to go with her to find the diaries of Destiny and the new team of X-Men rejoins the others to spend their last few nights at the mansion.

After seventy-two hours in his laboratory, Beast is able to discover the cure for the Legacy Virus after deciphering the notes of the late Dr. Moira MacTaggart. Xavier, Cecelia Reyes, Gambit and Wolverine congratulate Beast, who explains to them how the cure works. However, Beast and Cecelia realize that the cure can only be released after its host uses his or her power, which will then kill him or her. Beast stores the cure in a cabinet and goes out to play basketball with Gambit and Wolverine to clear his head. Inside, Cecelia senses something wrong with Colossus, who tells Cecelia all about his dead sister, Illyana. Cecelia realizes what Colossus wants to do, but he knocks her out before she can stop him. He injects the cure into himself and, for the last time, uses his mutant power. Cecelia recovers and desperately tries to save Colossus, but there is nothing she can do, as the longtime X-Man leaves to be reunited with his sister.

She was wrong then and, now, finds her self asking why Peter sacrificed himself. She attends college now and wants to live a normal life and to do her part to end the war, but in her own way. That is why she wants the Professor, to trust her and to let her do things her own way. Xavier reads Kitty’s letter and deletes every reference of her from the X-Men archives, showing that he is ready to let her go.

Meanwhile, Magneto finds the Neo and quickly forces his will over them. He announces to Domina that he is going to lead Genosha in a war against humanity and, at long last, he will deal with Charles Xavier.

Deadpool #49
Deadpool is feeling down, because he was so easily betrayed by Ananastasia. By coincidence he meets five different women, each attractive in their own way, and arranges dates with them. With two he already spends some horizontal time, yet all five are really the shapeshifting Copycat.

Wolverine v2 #162-166
Surrounded by a number of security personnel, Senator Drexel Walsh is paranoid that he is next on the list of men he used to know that have been killed. Pulling out a restricted disk, he attempts to contact Ben Urich at the Daily Bugle to reveal the information. Unfortunately, he never makes contact as he and his guards are massacred and the disk destroyed by… Wolverine?! Waking up from another nightmare, Logan goes for a drive. He is joined, uninvited by Beast. They hit a diner and Logan tells his story to Hank when they are interrupted by a news report that talks about the death of Senator Walsh. When they show the footage, it is of Wolverine standing over the gutted body of Senator Walsh. In another location, Sabretooth is successfully undergoing the adamantium bonding process.

SHIELD has joined the manhunt and has placed the jurisdiction of the hunt to Sharon Carter, given Nick Fury’s history with the suspect. Though shut out, Nick Fury informs Dum Dum Dugan that he has called in his own tracker, the enigmatic Shiver Man. Meanwhile, Logan recieves a strange phone call only to hear a cryptic warning from “a friend” who urges Logan to look into his past. Just then, he and Hank are attacked by the Shiver Man.

PHOL9ZC.jpg

After a difficult fight, Logan manages to slice off the Shiver Man’s arm, an act that seems to raise their foe’s curiosity more than pain or worry. Without further hostilities, the Shiver Man disappears. Heading back to their motel room, Logan receives a letter from Fury that invites him to the senator’s mansion to talk. There, the duo is met by Fury, whom Logan decapitates after short order. Beast and Logan have but a moment to examine the body, in fact a Life Model Decoy, before they are surrounded by Brent Jackson and a number of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, who have successfully sprung their trap.

Logan and Hank are incarcerated In the prison know as the Cage where all of the prisoners are depowered, thanks to a dampening field. Logan is attacked by a group that call themselves the Skulls which escalates into a full-scale prison fight. Eventually, the guards intervene, drag Logan off and toss him into the Hole. After the cafeteria battle, the Warden is not happy and orders his main man Tillis to do something about it. Unbeknownst to the Warden, Tillis has something in mind and shows one of his fellow guards, who is shocked by what he sees. In another section of the prison, Hank is accosted by inmates who are attempting to collect a bounty that had been placed on his head. He is saved, however, by the Kangaroo, who stabs Hank himself, having actually only wanted to collect the reward himself.

In New York, Dr. Strange suddenly feels a severe pain via a premonition of a returning, ancient evil. At the same moment, inside the bowels of the Cage, Reb introduces his discovery to his buddy Axel. It is a partially decomposed being by the name of Mauvais. After accidentally awakening him, they cut a deal with him. In exchange for killing Wolverine for them, they will release him. Meanwhile, at the medical ward, a member of the Skulls goes to finish off an already severely injured Hank McCoy. However, before he is able to kill him, Hank is saved by Peepers, who snaps and kills the Skull. Logan is drugged by Reb and Axel and taken to Mauvais. Once there, Mauvais bites him numerous times and even eats his eye, gaining strength in the process. Finally with enough power to escape, Mauvais disappears. Infuriated, Reb goes to kill Wolverine himself but is taken out by none other than Sabretooth with a number of agents in tow, who proceed to free Wolverine, Hank McCoy and Peepers from the Cage. Meanwhile, Nick Fury hires the Shiver Man to trail S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Brent Jackson.

In the new Weapon X facility, Logan is being held captive and learns that it is run by a man simply known as the Director. Years ago, he was a young soldier who was brutally injured by Logan himself during his escape from the original Weapon X facility. Since then, the Director has made it his life’s work to restart the program. He then informs Logan that they had reactivated his memory implants and he was the one who murdered Senator Walsh. The Director had help, though, in the form of Brent Jackson and Sabretooth. In New York, Maverick meets up with John Wraith and learns they are being recruited into the new program. Maverick declines and begins to clash with Sabretooth, who was sent there to do the recruiting. After a give-and-take battle, Sabretooth gains the upper hand, shoves his fist through his chest, and throws Maverick off of the roof of the building.

iZOJZyq.jpg

At the Weapon X facility, Wolverine is freed by the Shiver Man. After taking out a number of guards, Wolverine is confronted by Sabretooth himself. They begin to battle, but Wolverine discovers that Sabretooth is stronger and, right now, better than he is. However, before Sabretooth can deliver the killing blow, he is again saved by the Shiver Man. As he does, Logan is able to get Hank McCoy out of the complex before it explodes. Days later, Logan learns that Nick Fury has used his connections to cover up what Logan did while under the control of the program. As they talk, the Director tells Jackson that this is only the beginning and that it isn’t over yet.

X-Force #114-115
After surviving apparent death in the Ural Mountains thanks to Bedlam’s force field, X-Force have gone even deeper undercover as they go about travelling the world and putting an end to organizations that are doing harm to mutants. In Buenos Aires, they destroy Gentechnic, a company which creates treatments for various diseases using the spinal fluid of infant mutants. While deciding on their next plan, Proudstar suggests they try and find out who tried to kill them, but it is agreed that it is easier if people think they are dead. In England, the destruction of Gentechnic did not go unnoticed by a mysterious woman. Her agents have discovered that five airline tickets have been purchased for Australia, and she orders Agent Corben be sent to intervene. At the airport, Domino has a bad feeling, so X-Force don’t get on the plane - just as well as the mysterious Agent Corben attacks it and causes it to crash on the runway. X-Force leap into action and fight her, bringing her down. Bedlam’s electrical powers prove useful in hurting her so bad that she confesses everything. Bedlam places her in a coma after X-Force learn who is after them.

X-Force kidnap Alistaire Stuart in London, and he tells them they have sent the spook world into a spin. X-Force want information from him, but he is reluctant to give it up, until they reveal that two days ago a British mutant tried to kill them, and that she was sent by Romany Wisdom. Alistaire reveals that Romany is the project director of a black ops initiative so far above conventional government she was impossible to touch. Thanks to the alien device that she took from X-Force during an earlier encounter, X-Force are able to track her down. They take out her arm with ease, before Romany confronts them. She explains that her facility stretches far and is fueled by a geothermal reactor, and that there are six thousand workers and their families present, suggesting X-Force don’t kill her. Romany reveals that after the way X-Force dealt with Agent Corben she has considered recruiting them, but X-Force aren’t supportive of that idea. Bedlam realizes that the facility is made of the same alien technology as the creature that latched itself to Domino, and Romany shows them a lab where psychopaths, murderers and rapists are being bonded with the alien device. Romany explains that they are building the technology to generate the tools needed to commence reconstruction of the world, improving the human race, and eradicating diseases and other problems that plague humanity. X-Force don’t agree with what she is doing, and learn that Romany’s body is comprised of the alien technology herself. X-Force refuse to join her, and are attacked by the symbiote creature. Realizing the base was made up of the device, and that the device was alive, Bedlam gives it a aneurysm, and the facility is destroyed in a massive explosion, which kill X-Force, save for Domino who is thrown clear. Recovering from her injuries, Domino is interviewed by Alistaire Stuart, and she relays X-Force’s story to him. Alistaire isn’t alone, however, as Pete Wisdom is listening in, and he suggests that Romany probably isn’t dead, after all, he was believed dead himself. Alistaire asks Wisdom if this game of his was worth it, to which Wisdom points out that X-Force saved the world. Alistaire asks about X-Force, and Wisdom is sure they will back when you least expect them.

Series Conclusion
Generation X #71-75
Monet, Jubilee, Chamber and Skin discuss their new team uniforms, while planning what they are going to do now that Banshee and the White Queen have given them a day off. Monet, Jubilee and Chamber go to New York City, where Chamber meets a teenage punk girl. As it turns out, the girl is deaf, which is why she was so startled when Chamber “spoke” to her, but after a few minutes, the two begin to communicate easily with their thoughts. Later on, when Rana asks to know more about Chamber, he clams up and becomes stand-offish. Chambers tries to assure Rana that he isn’t turning her down because she is deaf, but Rana isn’t so convinced. Rana gives Chamber her address, asking him to write to her. Unfortunately, he throws the letter away on the way home.

Meanwhile, M and Jubilee find themselves on the subway train, and Jubilee shows a small plasma firework to a child sitting opposite her, moments before anti-mutant terrorists take over the carriage, spouting off hate towards mutants, and blaming mutants for the death of Senator Kelly. Jubilee and Monet quietly discuss a plan, but Monet is not confident that she can use her telepathy to take the unstable terrorists down - but believes she can do so with her physical combat skills. Things take a turn for the worse, when the little kid points to Jubilee and announces that she made sparks with her hands. Monet leaps into action and disarms the first terrorist, while Jubilee engages another with her plasma blasts. Monet takes down more of the terrorists, but Jubilee is injured by another - and almost shot, until Monet rescues her at the last second. The civilian passengers look at Monet with fear and hatred, so she uses her telepathy on them to erase these events from their minds, before leaping into the subway tunnel. Jubilee recovers from the ordeal, and discusses the attack with Monet, who asks her not to tell anyone about the mind-wipe.

Skin tests out some new moves on Banshee, impressing his mentor. Banshee phones Moira MacTaggert, only he speaks to Charles Xavier, and finds out she's died. Banshee storms out of the mansion, and ignores Skin as they get into Banshee’s jeep. When they almost miss their turn off, Banshee snaps out of his mood, apologizes to Skin and drives to a pub. Banshee vents some emotion, talking about his and Moira’s relationship, and Skin compares it to his former life. They begin discussing their business, and Banshee instructs Skin to wait in the jeep and when he phones him, to bring the suitcase from the boot inside. Banshee is abducted by his associates. Skin quickly follows them in the jeep, unaware that the thugs have gagged Banshee so he cannot use his mutant powers. Banshee struggles to defend himself, and ends up with a bullet in his thigh. Skin takes control of the situation, by ramming the jeep into the thugs’ car, and forcing it into a ditch. During the process, several of the thugs are taken out by the impact, and Skin quickly takes the others out by using his powers against them. Skin rescues Banshee, who congratulates him on a great effort, while the wounded Banshee tells Moira that he will see her soon, but not just yet.

Husk reveals to the White Queen her new system for tracking any incidents of terrorism to mutants. While her teammates are out for the day, Husk uses the time alone to familiarize herself with the Academy’s new security system. Something goes wrong though, and the mansion is plunged into darkness. Investigating the goings-on, Husk encounters some ghosts of children that use to attend the school years ago when it was a girls boarding school. One of the ghosts pursues Husk and reveals to her that she was abused while at the school. With this information, Husk tracks down the girl’s now elderly sister, and reveals this information to her, before comforting the old woman.

The White Queen recalls killing her sister, Adrienne Frost.

Skin and Jubilee notice how despondent Banshee has become, sinking deeper and deeper into depression, constantly drinking alcohol. Husk informs her teammates that her next planned mission is to go and help some protesters who are fighting against the destruction of a once-protected forest, where an oil company intends to start drilling. But when the White Queen is informed of the mission, she rejects it, revealing that she invests in the oil company. The White Queen meets with a detective, who tells her that there has been financial activity in Adrienne’s accounts, but the White Queen responds that she doesn’t have time for this and uses her powers on him - apparently killing him - witnessed by a shocked Monet. Monet quickly informs her teammates, who discuss the matter. Later, Jubilee visits Chamber and learns that he has been invited to join the X-Men. When Chamber informs Monet, Husk and Skin, Husk is clearly annoyed, but the discussion turns to what the rest of them are going to do - stay with a drunk and a psychotic, simply waiting to graduate to the X-Men or get out and do something for themselves. After a lengthy discussion, Jubilee and Skin decide to return to LA, while Monet announces she is returning home and Husk declares she is going to help the protestors up North. Generation X inform Banshee that they all want to leave, which snaps him out of his drinking. He says some nice words, before the kids tell him they want him to inform the White Queen due to her current attitude. The next morning, Generation X say their goodbyes to each other after Banshee told them they need to leave as soon as possible. Husk has a teary goodbye with Chamber, who reveals he left a note for her, before Monet departs in a limousine, leaving Jubilee, Husk and Skin, while the White Queen watches them all, frowning. Not long later, the White Queen receives a phone call from the Professor, and an x-copter arrives to collect her. Banshee takes one last look around the Massachusetts Academy, before he too departs.

Series Conclusion
X-Men #71-75
30 years ago in Kansas, a couple found a spaceship with something horrible in it that killed them and detonated a huge chunk of the field.

Nate tries to help a blind nun with nightmarish visions. He finds that the visions originate from a parallel world and takes her there. That world is under attack by Qabiri, a being from a higher plane of reality who intends to destroy all worlds that have developed superbeings capable of crossing between parallel worlds. The world’s premier superhero team has for the most part already fallen when Nate and Sister Perpetua arrive. Of interest is that the nun and the team’s leader, Nikola Zeitgeist, look identical. Nate learns from the injured members of the Protectorate of how Qabiri appeared and, without warning, eradicated most of humanity. Nate decides to confront Qabiri and lean what this is about. He learns that Qabiri is from a world far higher in the spiral of worlds and is afraid of spiralwalkers from below contaminating his Earth. Hence, he has started to destroy Earths that can spawn spiral walkers. As the two men fight, on the ground Nicola sees one of them being tossed away and orders Technocrat to teleport them there to finish Qabiri off. Instead, she finds a beaten Nate. A moment later, Qabiri destroys the world. While Qabiri arrives on Nate’s Earth waiting for him, Nate, Perpetua and Nicola flee to a broken Earth. Upon arrival, there is confusion as none of them is aware of having brought them there. They are joined by a third woman named Hassan, who is another lookalike of the two women. Nate brings them to his homeworld and tries to explain that they aren’t counterparts, but parts of one being. The women don’t take the news well, apart from Perpetua. Nate forces them to see the truth and eventually merges them. That moment, Qabiri arrives. He’s just a bout to kill Nate when the newly merged woman fights him. Qabiri recognizes her as Idris, a lost member of his own race. Nate realizes that Idris is still missing too many parts of herself and that therefore they can’t win yet. He threatens that he now knows what Qabiri fears and teleports himself and Idris away. Between the worlds, Nate decides that they have to find out what scared Idris so much that she shattered herself across worlds. Nate takes Idris to the Brilliant City and then lures Qabiri there as well, before he can destroy Earth. In the city, its inhabitants are not interested in what Idris has to say, considering her tainted. They pass the same judgment on Qabiri, leading him to destroy parts of the city in anger. Nate telepathically links Idris with her other selves and they learn the awful truth that Idris had been trying to forget. They are at the bottom of another Spiral and are as broken a universe as any below them. With the citizens in despair and Qabiri broken Idris asks Nate to turn her back into sister Perpetua. Later, Nate blames himself but realizes he has to bear this sin.

A boy and a girl are trying to escape from a Kansas town but are stopped by the Harvester, a malevolent being which is terrorizing it. The boy, a telekinetic, briefly manages to burn a cry for help, into a sunflower field, long enough for Nate Grey to notice it. Nate visits the town and the boy, Mike, leads him to the alien Harvester. Nate quickly learns that the Harvester’s people more or less helped along in the evolution of life on Earth to create power sources for them to harvest and the time is upon them. Nate finds he can’t fight the Harvester, as his energies are interwoven with any living being on Earth – save for Nate who’s an outsider. When he offers his energy instead, he is told that his energy is tainted. Nate takes Mike away and indirectly asks him to become his successor as a shaman, after which Nate then goes to fight the harvester. He dissolves them both into energy. Through the Harvester, Nate’s “tainted” energy flows into every living being and thus “spoils” the crop. Mike is the only one to realize Nate’s sacrifice and he decides to learn to become a shaman.

Wolverine v2 #177-169
Wolverine, aka Patch, is invited to participate in the yearly Bloodsport tournament held in Madripoor by “his friend.” When he makes his way over there, Logan runs into his wife, Viper, who is overseeing the tournament.

In the first round, Headhunter defeats Oddball, Puma defeats Gamecock, Taskmaster defeats Cat, Zaran defeats Razorfist, Anaconda defeats Forearm, Toad defeats Eel, and Patch defeats Speed Demon. In the second round, Taskmaster defeats Zaran, Puma defeats Anaconda, and Patch defeats Toad. The final battle of the second round involves Logan’s “friend” decapitating Headhunter. Logan is then shocked to learn the identity of his “friend” – Mister X. Before Logan’s next match against Puma, Jae gives Logan some water which turns out to be poisoned. After barely winning, Logan becomes suspicious that Viper has poisoned him and confronts Jae Lo about it. In the next match, Mr. X easily defeats Taskmaster. Next up is the final match – Logan versus Mr. X. At first, X has the upper-hand but after Taskmaster shoots a flaming arrow which engulfs the cage in fire, Logan discovers what X’s power is – he’s a telepath. Taking his rage to an animalistic level, Logan is able to gain the advantage. In a fluke, X is able to capture the belt and win the tournament. Before Logan can finish him off, Blok steps in protecting his master. Just then, the floor collapses and Logan finds himself alone. Later, Logan prepares to leave but Viper stops him when she tells him that Ogun is back.

Remembering a moment of his past, Logan recalls the time he witnessed his mentor, Ogun, being stabbed in the gut with a sword from Hana. Ogun not only survived, but killed Hana. In present day, Logan and Viper are combing the streets of Madripoor looking for Ogun. As Ogun proceeds to jump from body to body, Logan tries to prevent Viper from killing the innocent people Ogun possesses. After Ogun possesses a number of people, he invites Logan to finish this at the docks later that night. That night, Logan is shocked to see Viper there. He discovers that she herself has been possessed by Ogun. Ogun next attempts to make his way into Logan’s mind, but finds it too bestial and heads back into Viper. Once he is there, Logan stabs Viper in the gut which drives Ogun out of her and into the night sky. Angry, Viper tells Logan that she isn’t going to grant him their deal, their divorce, because he stabbed her. Logan tells her fine and to make her way to the hospital on her own, and she concedes granting him the divorce.
