I was looking around the league and I think an underrated potential trade for Melo would be a sign and trade Deal with the wizards for Otto Porter. Porter wants the Max and there are signs they don't want to give it to him because Oubre has more potential. Melo would be on a shorter deal and could start for them now. As Oubre got better and became a starter, Melo would be deadly for them coming off the bench as a scorer like Paul Pierce was a few years ago.

Is a tough match up. Also D.C. Is basically right next to Baltimore so Melo would be near where he grew up, and close enough to maintain a family in NY and business ties.

Knicks would get the inferior player in Porter but his youth would coincide better with KP's, plus he is efficient and plays defense. So he would be a better piece at SF to build around KP with.

Also I know MCW on the Bulls sucks but he might be another target for the Knicks this FA. Especially if Hornecek could help him be a smarter player. I Actually want to see the game Thursday to see if he is salvageable. Anyhow just food for thought.

I'd put money up that Phil wants the offense to run through Porzingis, the triangle worked with Gasol doing a lot of faceup work and finding cutters, they don't run the triangle anymore because Rose & Melo don't have the skillset for it. So, the most talented player on the team is being used like he's Ryan Anderson, when we all know he can do a lot more.

Phil wasn't the GM before and the team stunk, the coach and the players around Melo were different and the team stunk, the only constant here is that the team has been garbage with Melo for more years than it's been good.

Tonight I realized 2 things. One that there are Knicks fans. Two that there are Melo fans. They're not the same people.

Are you KP fans clowns how many times are we going to run the offense thru KP til realize he doesn't have that game against NO last week they run the offense thru him and he was getting bodied by guards and shooting bricks of the side of the rim when he had a ten ft advantage over the guard but now you want to compare him to Gasol it is laughable.KP plays 10 mins without Melo and Rose in the second and 4th quarter and doesn't even take a shot that is not a straight away three dude is a glorified Ryan Anderson.

If i am KP i would hope Melo is here so that all the irrational hatred can continue to go to him while nobody notices how Kp aint in the same league as Towns,Embid,Cousins, Davis on the offensive end and has so much work to do before he can even be a guy you can strictly run the offense with. If he can't control the second unit how i can expect him to be a franchise player if Hornacek was smart he would let Melo play with the second unit rather than watch a glorified Ryan Anderson want to shoot threes

Been saying derrick rose is an awful/overrated pg for YEARS was called troll/cac/fraud/c00n by his coli contingent of groupies(most aren't real bulls fans). They can never handle the truth about dude,it's always excuses or wait til he gets healthy or blame his shortcomings on thibs/jimmy/noah/garpax.

reading a completely different fan base who doesn't blindly dikkride rose cuz he's from chicago say the same things feels vindicating

and rose didn't have a family emergency he was gonna quit playing basketball that's why he went awol, didn't answer the calls and needed "space" cuz he couldn't handle getting benched for an un drafted partridge family looking whiteboy.

It's ridiculous, especially when you contrast it with how the Sixers use Embiid even though it's his first season they're just like "Do whatever you want big fella" and run offense through him, they just go if he turns it over from being doubled because they know the experience of playing with talent around him now and dealing with those doubles will pay off in the future when better players are around him. I'd love to see Kristaps get 5 straight possessions on the mid-block and see what he does, let him catch the ball and faceup like JoJo does.

Nah, this isn't the right way to tank because it's getting in the way of Kristaps who is being reduced to "Stand and wait" on offense, you saw how much the Sixers get the ball to Embiid in the mid-post and how he's almost always involved on offense, that isn't the case with Porzingis. There's absolutely no reason why the Knicks can't get the ball to Kristaps in the same spots, but they just dont. This is a terrible way to tank because the expectations are high on the team, and you're not bad enough to get any of the top 5 picks. The Sixers are developing their guys and tanking, their fans realize the team is young and still enjoy the game because they have a player(s) they can look forward to watching grow.

He's second on the team in attempts, getting minutes as a secondary option and first option with the bench unit and his usage rate is above 24%. And he's looking gassed with an achilles problem. Idk about mid-post complaints either, the Knicks have been feeding KP elbow post ups all season off high screens with Rose when the switch is forced (which teams do frequently because KP can't take advantage of it). His recent touches have dipped but I'd blame the double teams he's facing lately more than anything, rewatch the second quarter from the other night and you'll see KP get fed post mismatches for plenty of possessions. Dude probably needs a couple of weeks off to get his legs back, this looks like the way he faded last season.

As far as not bad enough to get top 5 picks therefore it's not proper tanking, they just blew a 10 point lead with 2 mins left to the Sixers...they can get a top 5 pick. And I was speaking moreso on the fact that they played hard for the most part, not a season long generality. You want them to lose the game without quitting, that was my point. In terms of getting minutes for the young guys to develop, I've been asking for that all damned season but it looks like the vets are gonna get their minutes unless we can unload them...which I don't think we can. KOQ and Lee could be moved; Rose maybe but salary matching is a problem; after that, whose eating Lance or Noah's contract? Melo has to waive the NTC plus match salaries, so that's a complicated one too. I wouldn't waste picks to dump those cats (just bench 'em), so I think we're stuck with this roster. But again, the way they're playing is bad enough to get a top 5 pick right now and I don't think they get better than bottom 10 unless something shifts (that should be range to get one of the PG's I hope).

whats everyone so upset about? these losses are good in the long run, pair kp with another young player. melo isnt going anywhere, i dont know why we discuss this after every loss. it's not happening til maybe this off-season, and i dont see it happening then either.

Co-sign all of this. We should be realistic about our options.
