Nah, this isn't the right way to tank because it's getting in the way of Kristaps who is being reduced to "Stand and wait" on offense, you saw how much the Sixers get the ball to Embiid in the mid-post and how he's almost always involved on offense, that isn't the case with Porzingis. There's absolutely no reason why the Knicks can't get the ball to Kristaps in the same spots, but they just dont. This is a terrible way to tank because the expectations are high on the team, and you're not bad enough to get any of the top 5 picks. The Sixers are developing their guys and tanking, their fans realize the team is young and still enjoy the game because they have a player(s) they can look forward to watching grow.

Yup when to school with alot of 76ers fans and they loved what the FO in Philly is doing. Which is why I scoff at the moral grandstanding and long winded emotional rant from Knick fans in here who claim they just want to make the playoffs.

The same issues that pop up predate Phil. Phil is definitely useless but Dolan is the core problem.

Nah the Nets, Mavs, Heat, Suns and Sixers are a lock for those 5, and then you have to take into account the Sixers also get the Lakers pick if it's outside the top 3 so they have incentive to make sure they end up with a worse record than the Lakers.

I fell asleep when the Knicks were up 80-71 cause I thought the game was over. Then I wake up to some cac player on the Sixers being interviewed post-game
I was hoping these nikkas would lose for the sake of the tank but I didn't actually think they were bad enough to do so.
But whatever, hopefully we can build on this loss and string together a few more Ls to get back into that Philly/Miami/Brooklyn range in the standings.

You must have missed my "Is Brandon Jennings the worst starting PG in the league" thread from a few years ago

The Sixers use Embiid on the block, he faces up and uses the jab step & jumper, he's not dominating with his back to the basket (Yet). Those same plays could work with Porzingis, the Knicks just don't use him that way, he's used almost exclusively as a screener.

we only call 2 plays with screens directly for kp to get his shot off...per game
at the beginning of halves...thats it literally.
all his other shots are off rolling and the occasional post up he gets....off the switch...cause he picks...
we dont do any backdoors with his big ass
very rarely get any designed alley oops
for someone as talented as him....he gets all his looks from the same action....and its starting to become easier and easier to defend even if he's a walking mismatch.

That's not Melo and Rose's fault tho, them dudes gonna take shot's thats what they do. That's front office and the coaches fault. You think if Phil publicly came out said this offense needs to run thru KP it wouldn't happen?

Phil supposed to be this incense burning zen master. He could publicly make it happen. But guess what it's alot easier to let Melo take the blame for everthing and collect 12 mil a year

I'd put money up that Phil wants the offense to run through Porzingis, the triangle worked with Gasol doing a lot of faceup work and finding cutters, they don't run the triangle anymore because Rose & Melo don't have the skillset for it. So, the most talented player on the team is being used like he's Ryan Anderson, when we all know he can do a lot more.

Phil wasn't the GM before and the team stunk, the coach and the players around Melo were different and the team stunk, the only constant here is that the team has been garbage with Melo for more years than it's been good.

it is their fault tho...more rose than anything...cause he's supposed to be a floor general
he has tunnel vision and doesnt pass to anyone but the roller in the pnr situation...or makes an ill advised jump pass
do you know how many times ive seen kp spotted up in a corner wide open ....cause his man helps off of him to guard the pnr...and they NEVER pass it to him?

It's ridiculous, especially when you contrast it with how the Sixers use Embiid even though it's his first season they're just like "Do whatever you want big fella" and run offense through him, they just go if he turns it over from being doubled because they know the experience of playing with talent around him now and dealing with those doubles will pay off in the future when better players are around him. I'd love to see Kristaps get 5 straight possessions on the mid-block and see what he does, let him catch the ball and faceup like JoJo does.
