Bad teams figure out ways to lose. This is how you tank properly though, these dudes put in a pretty good effort and actually had spurts of good defensive communication but the offense was pretty ugly for stretches. This ain't the type of game you want to win where Melo and Rose isolation play was damn near the only thing working; so let the tank keep going screw it.
Agreed.

Why doesn't phil just ask him to waive the NTC. Phil got chips, and the nyc fans and media hate Melo so no one would care or ride for melo.

Yall just don't wanna blame phil for anything. Why cant phil sit down with Melo and say this aint working out etc...
Phil's def to blame (the Fisher hire alone), but Melo won't lift the NTC cuz he doesn't want tooooooo. He's good here in NY with the lifestyle, fam is good here, access, ability to do wtf he wants whenever on and off the court, trying to be a tech billionaire, etc. Basketball is just a luxury and obligation so that the checks can clear.

When a star player demands a FULL NTC in the latter part of their career he's saying, "I know y'all gonna want to get rid of me at some point...but nah."

Nah, this isn't the right way to tank because it's getting in the way of Kristaps who is being reduced to "Stand and wait" on offense, you saw how much the Sixers get the ball to Embiid in the mid-post and how he's almost always involved on offense, that isn't the case with Porzingis. There's absolutely no reason why the Knicks can't get the ball to Kristaps in the same spots, but they just dont. This is a terrible way to tank because the expectations are high on the team, and you're not bad enough to get any of the top 5 picks. The Sixers are developing their guys and tanking, their fans realize the team is young and still enjoy the game because they have a player(s) they can look forward to watching grow.

Bench him til he waives it or agrees to a buyout . If its that bad. I feel like they just wanna keep Melo around so he cant get all the blame for the failures of that shytty ass franchise

Why doesn't KP dominate when Melo and Rose aint out there tho. At some point he needs to be aggressive. Yall can't keep with this narrative that Melo and Rose taking shots away from KP when KP doesn't do anything when he is out there with jennings and kuz and o quinn. Melo and Rose aint the reason KP cant score over jrue holiday and any one thats under 6'6

That's probably the most disappointing thing about this slide, he's not getting chances to improve even when the team stinks.

The Knicks are absolutely bad enough to get into the top 5.

You know you're probably not wrong there either. Melo is like Goodell in that sense...and is laughing all the way to the bank.

You must have missed my "Is Brandon Jennings the worst starting PG in the league" thread from a few years ago

The Sixers use Embiid on the block, he faces up and uses the jab step & jumper, he's not dominating with his back to the basket (Yet). Those same plays could work with Porzingis, the Knicks just don't use him that way, he's used almost exclusively as a screener.
