At this point I wonder if the Knicks should maybe absorb a bad contract like Evan Turner (who would be real good in the triangle) or Allen Crabbe (Courtney Lee lite) for some of those Blazers picks......:::

Like we're so bad in FA..... and outside of PG this FA isn't even anything special..... and all the best RFA's are going to be overpaid or kept......

But he's fukked up the Melo situation. Melo shouldn't have been on your roster since the trade deadline.

There are a few reasons I don't agree with that even though I understand that thought behind it. First and foremost, a player on a good contract can be moved. Courtney Lee is the perfect example. For now, he's a good bridge until we find a long term SG and when we do, his contract is good so we can move him to get back assets. At below 10% of cap, they're not stopping you from signing anyone either. They're also role players that add continuity to the roster. Lance knows his role, Holiday will know his role and having them locked in at a cost controlled contract for the next three or four years means that if we luck into Fultz then our core can grow with the role players around them already in place as well. I don't see the negatives with keeping guys like that unless you're overpaying them. Better to have Justin Holiday in place than get to the point where we need to find our 6,7,8th man in a rush before we supermax KP and have nothing but minimum contracts to offer.

I get this reasoning but I'd feel bad keeping Lee and Holiday since they're older and only have so many years left to compete. We could keep getting young role players if possible.

I'm kind of glad with roses injury, there have been numerous rumors of us resigning him. With his latest injury, hopefully that ship has sailed. Unless he signs a MLE, I don't want him on my team next year

I don't know, for the right price it's definitely tempting. But he'd still have to be a willing passer and then there's the whole disappearance act. But at the same time if we rebuilding he's not really "needed"
