My Pops Forever RIP
Those parts have to be nice by default tho, u need money to have a car and a piece of land big enough to park it

U go out past the trains, home ownership shoots up which brings up quality of life. U cant be broke and have a car in NYC no way.

Whats wrong with the CBE? Isnt it hood on both sides? Plus theres plenty of neighborhoods cut in half by big highways. The Belt cut through my neighborhood growing up.

The CBE killed the property values of the buildings surrounding it. Before that shyt was built, that stretch of the Bronx was practically Staten Island.

It would be the equivalent of doing what Robert Moses wanted to do and put a highway on 5th avenue.

Robert Moses was a man with a plan.

fukk Robert Moses...that guy made far rockaway a dumping ground for Invalids and mentally ill people living in assisted living. There's more nursing homes, halfway houses, and assisted living facilities than any other part of NY. The boardwalk (before sandy crushed the buildings and swept it out to sea) is riddled with with them when there should b condos , hotels, bars, and restaurants. Name me one beachfront community that has section 8 waterfront property and no booming businesses ill wait :beli: The hipsters were moving in but sandy hurt the movement big time. On one hand I like the hipsters bc they open new businesses n put a spotlight on the community, on the other hand I wish it was more ppl I grew up w making money n being entrepreneurs, but they're too indoctrinated w the belief that far rock will always b shyt. In ten yrs the neighborhood will b drastically diff, n it's crazy bc it all started w some hipsters opening up a tiny taco stand on a run down block n started making paper.

Not going hate on section 8 housing on the beach.....but I see what your saying and my urban planning beef with Moses is when he prevented a subway connection across the Verazanno Bridge when they were proposing it...the beaches of Staten Island would look like what you are describing I think...it would be more connected to the rest of the city and region.....

I was reading up on him.....and he got a lot of his power b/se he was in charge of one of those bridge between Queens and the Bronx that became a toll bridge and raking in big bucks :birdman: ....so much so that he was providing funding for other NYC infrastructure projects at the time....with that said.....he did put in some good thoroughfares for the city...
