One thing I hate about this site is this order of protocol.

1. create a lie
2. run with it, buttress it and think you've made a point

Idk about you guys, but it's good to know my fellow Michigan/Detroit posters have the same views as me when it comes to gentrification.

Point still stands though that black people are better off down south. Working class, corporate, whatever. I just heard a chick I grew up with bought a house down there for $125K. U can't even buy a parking space for that in NYC

I can buy a parking space almost anywhere in the city for 50k

You can live good in the south, especially if you know how to budget. Now, if you go to an area that is real small, it can be worse then NYC due to low employment opportunities, but if you go to major cities, and the suburban areas surrounding it, there is a chance you can get an opportunity to live good, compared to how a lot of people live in nyc on the same salary. You just won't have as much spots to hit up, but if you are smart you can make things work out for yourself, and have some enjoyment.

A lot of people just get stuck on the memories of being back home, and don't see the south for what is has to offer, and also, a lot put down the south while bigging up NYC. This puts a lot of people off, and they don't like us for that reason, but if you can mingle, while still being humble about where you're from, most will love you.

so theres that.

lol .. @88m3

Lol and living in poverty + being a perpetual victim of gentrification until you die is the wave

Ay bruh the city is safe and some black people are hipsters. You pay a price for the best. You have to do what is best for you and family, and I wish you the best in the move to Charlotte.

City is better than its ever been for people who can afford to live here comfortably. I'm just on the cusp of discomfort. I hope I am not coming off bitter though. My gripes with the city go beyond the money. Its def not for everybody.

Thanks for the well wishes

:deadmanny: @ the Bronx. And y'all wonder why gentrification will never go down here.

$13.7K a year to live on East 180th on the 2/5, and if you've ever been around there, that's an overpay. When the sun goes down around there, that's God's way of letting you know you're on your own.

:snoop::scusthov: damn b can you at least give it to the hipsters with vaseline??
