You got enough money to buy properties?how about buy buildings or become more effecitve lobbyiers
Damn son when you becoming a Piano District resident?
think I'll stick it out in CH
Bronx is getting that full tilt East New York treatment
Every time I drive up or down 87 I see new buildings going up
Bronx's Jerome Avenue Rezoning moves forward, but not without issues
I can't imagine how many people are going to be displaced
Yeah shyt is crazy, I was just looking up my old building and its owners because I was just curious as to what was going with it. And I find out that it has been purchased for $23 Million (http://www.besengroup.com/news/albert-goodman-plaza-sells-for-23-8-million-250-apartments-preserved; HPD, HDC AND PRESERVATION DEVELOPMENT PARTNERS ANNOUNCE THE RENOVATION OF ALBERT GOODMAN PLAZA A 4-BUILDING AFFORDABLE HOUSING COMPLEX IN THE BRONX). It makes no sense to me long term why the buyers would purchase a section 8 property and then supposedly extent the section 8 contract. And so I decide to look up some info on the buyers "Preservation Development Partners" and I found a interesting article on these folks...
"Transactions, such as structured finance transactions, which transfer assets for the purpose of securitization or participation, should be made at arm’s length. However, some of the parties had relationships with each other. For example, Mr. Rodney, the president of the city’s Housing Development Corporation and the author of the memorandum to the chair and the board members of the city’s Housing Development Corporation, was a former director at one of the investors in Triborough, BFC Partners, L.P. Vicki Been, the commissioner of the city’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development and the chair of the board of the city’s Housing Development Corporation, had a relationship with another investor of Triborough. She served on the board of the Moelis Institute for Affordable Housing Policy, a New York University think tank that was founded by Mr. Moelis, one of the principals of L&M Development Partners Inc...
Since the transaction agreements were specific to the ownership, maintaining, and regulating of the approximately 900 apartments for the term of the agreements, any new residential or non-residential units developed on the properties by Triborough may not be subject to the project-based, Section 8 rent restrictions for existing apartments, meaning, that any new units may be marketed at market rate rents.
." (Cash-strapped NYCHA sold apartment buildings that had been recently refurbished)
I still got family in 3250 and I was just there a couple of weeks ago, these dudes have not fixed shyt inside the building. The hustle these folks are pulling is messed up, but you can't stay on section 8 for too long. NYC journalists are slacking out here, instead of hipster hit pieces these guys should be out there doing
No, but buying a building will be infinitely more beneficial than burning shyt down (because that worked out so well 40 years ago)You got enough money to buy properties?
Are you really this stupid? Seriously why the fukk would you advocate the burning down of people apartments? Those have a roof over their head but you don’t even want that for them? You think by doing something stupid like burning them the 70’s coming back? Is that your wish to for people to live like shyt for your 70’s fantasy? I hope you overdose on cheap heroin .My bronx people. We should start burnong buildings down again? What do ya say?? Im down? Lets host a meeting at mullaly park say??
Exactly, the amount of chicanery is disgusting. ProPublica held a really good meeting I went to last winter on a lot of the shyt going on and had different people come in and speak about landlords and rent overcharges.
There's not enough oversight on the state and city level and taxpayers and residents in these building are getting shafted.

The building I live in has J-51 but I pay market rate. I make a fuss though, I'll probably lose my apartment lease, and end up on a blacklist.
The city and state aren't even enforcing the laws that are on the books, it's not that there isn't teeth or laws on the books!
Way too much laziness and greed.
It's never laziness..you know someone getting that off the books bread
It's too simple to think everyone is corrupt if that were the case the system would breakdown entirely. Most people are just trying to survive at the end of the day.
We're reaching them limits of capitalism.
Lol nah
If the majority of people can't afford to live in this city let alone without financial assistance/subsidies what does that tell you?
The "I got it fukk you generation" is going to be okay but what about the next generation of civil servants and young people who are supposed to keep everything functioning?
nikkas laughed when i said New York brehs should move to the Newark area as it is not a big cultural change, relatively cheaper, and has great transitYou just described D.C. where most of the civil servants don't live within the city but live on the outskirts. Folks better get ready to move further into Jersey. There is no justice in this system, thinking the elites will soon have their comeuppance might make one feel good but that doesnt mean it will necessarily come to fruition.
Either buy now or get ready for the eventual move to Jersey or some other outskirt I don't say that to he condescending I'm simply being realistic about the eventual landscape for a large portion of the Black community in NYC.
The days of working for the MTA, NYPD, DOE, and other government departments and moving up the ladder inside the city while raising a family are gone. Either remain single and embrace the cosmopolitan lifestyle for the long haul or accept that notions of family building and living inside NYC don't really mix.

my own family is full of city workers that live in Jersey
none of which are at all different from the issues in NYCIt's the proximity to the chemical plants near Elizabeth, bad city leadership, and the Newark airport that's the problem.
