VET VET VET the woman you are planning to marry.

Never date a women who tolerates you & isn't "in to you"

I know dudes who got divorced in their 50s, women took most their assets/retirement funds. These dudes have to work the rest of their life because they can't afford to retire:mjcry:

I'm proposing to my lady this summer, wish me luck brehs:unsure:
Black love.
:blessed:
I’d say truly figure out what children look like for you. People say they want children until it happens
:francis:
My Wife is 18 months younger. We got married 7 years ago, known each other for ten. She wanted to be a lawyer. We decided to have children and now she’s a homemaker and depressed.
:mjcry:
I tell her she needs friends, hobbies and a life outside of us. She knows i am here for her and we will get through this together. The toddler years are tough on the body, mind and soul.
:wow:
I’m trying to move my family out here to Japan so she’s not by herself for 6 months out the year. Pray for me.

I think part of the relationship problem is when we meet someone initially we’re not meeting them rather who they think you would like. So you get with a person it’s ups and downs of uncovering the real them. Once that person is revealed then you must decide is this relationship/marriage worth keeping?

i wasnt even friends with either one of the chicks....
That’s the real problem. A lot of people are married to someone they don’t genuinely like. Physically attracted? Yes. Sexual chemistry? Yes. Financially stable? Yes.

But do you like them as a person when you strip that all away? By the time they realize the answer is “no”, it’s already too late. :francis:

I wonder how do you avoid shyt like that?

Write everything in ya momma name or put it under a llc
I mentioned my friend who had his house in his parents’ name, and got to keep it in his divorce. Basically, they saw this coming, because they witnessed her behavior. If a woman is bold enough to act up in front of your parents, especially your MAMA, you know it’s only a matter of time. They called him one day, and told him to convince her to get the house in their name, because they had better credit, and would get a better rate. She fell for it, and sure enough, she filed about 6 months later. They hadn’t even started renovations. But his parents knew what was up, and didn’t want him to be homeless. Luckily, he makes enough he can afford the bills on his own.

I'm in the same boat. Getting married this summer. This thread scaring the shyt out of me.
I get it in a way. You do have to really know the person as much as possible. My fiancé was always very transparent about what she was looking for and how she viewed marriage. Second date she drilled me about if I wanted to be married. Fast forward and we discussed the “when” of engagement.

She also has a range of marriages through family and friends as examples to use as reference points.
