We've rescued over 80k people since July 31st. Sounds like a success to me. Biden did the right thing. The only thing the administration got wrong was the time scale in which Afghanistan would fall to the Taliban. The fact that it fell in 2 days is more of a reason we should have left.
also why would anyone be dumb enough to believe pulling out of a 20 year war not be a messy process?

No, but we're in a country of a lot of wannabe super patriots, and the GOP is going to make sure people remember this. It's going to be a tough one regardless. They're not going to care that this was going to happen no matter what. This was always going to be a shyt show. It's being conveniently forgotten that this was Trump's deal. I want to be wrong, but I don't have faith in our fellow citizens. Biden, his administration and Democrats in general, are going to have to pull a few somethings out their butts to make our everyday lives better, to make people forget about this.
I don't want to stay because it means myself and other mebers of my family have to go back to Afghanistan. Biden made a rash decision because he became impatient with people he put in charge being indecisive about the military presence in Afghanistan. Actions like these takes years to plan to mitigate as much conflict as possible. He did everything backwards. Sorry I'm just an objective thinking who calls it like I see it. There was no right way to pull out but this was definitely one of the worst and he will be remembered for that.

you want out of afghanistan? great. you should maybe give the full last call evac order and deadline BEFORE pulling out the all the soldiers and leaving the bases to get looted
how the hell you the president of the united states saying you gotta follow the taliban's schedule on protecting your own citizens as well as those of our allies
