Here's the way I look at it:
The X-Files was REALLY like the Showtime reboot of "The Outer Limits". Each episode was actually a separate Sci Fi short story that had no relation to any other episodes. Then, during "Sweeps Weeks", Season Finales, and Season Premiers we would get "Mytharc" episodes that would come up with some BS conspiracy nonsense that would retroactively try to connect all of the other (disconnected) "Monster of the Week" stories in to one single arc.

That's why in one episode, aliens are Greys, in another episode aliens are shapeshifters, and in another episode aliens are made out of oil trapped inside million year old rocks. Because these "aliens" were from single episode stories that had NO connection to each other. But then, they would down the road come up with a Mytharc episode to try to come up with a story to say that these were all different forms of the SAME alien species.

The "Mytharc" was nothing more than a way to connect the Monster of the Week stories together.

We never knew what REALLY happened to Molder’s sister Samantha. That was his whole motivation thought out the entire series. She just appeared as an apparition saying “it’s ok” and buried the hatchet. Like wtf?! What happened?! :dahell:

The movie and the series actually explained the aliens: when they are born or hatched they are going and aggressive like in the movie. They mature into the Grey. The oil is alien blood. The shapeshifters are Greys disguised as humans to maneuver around Earth.

Goddamn each episode I watch, this motherfukka Scully is such a damn hinderance.

The evidence that comes their way is more than just a damn hunch and it’s like 1/3rd of each episode is getting past her and her bullshyt.

I hope at some point he gets to smash just for some sort of “consolation prize”. And he better get some bytches as this show goes on. Plenty of UFO thots out there that he could easily smash.

Maybe she mellows the fukk out in later seasons (I’m still on season 1) but I can’t help but think that Mulder would be killing it with a different partner who could cut thru the FBI bullshyt but also not try to derail shyt like Florida Evans :russ:

and real talk the thread title is dead on.

these motherfukkers don’t solve shyt! Crazy how these CACs are pulling in a govt salary and expensing all kinds of trips and just to meddle in local fukkery in these towns and then leave.

I know, I saw the movie twice in theaters the week it came out.

In addition to the above, there were swarms of bees stinging people with oil-iens, or something.

But if you go back and rewatch the episodes where the radioactive aliens were introduced, and the episodes where the "grays" were introduced, and the episodes where the shapeshifters were introduced, and the episodes where the black oil virus was introduced, it's obvious that any "connections" between them were made up after the fact.

Supposedly she escaped wherever the Cigarette Man had held her n experimented on her....she ended up in a hospital, THEN of course the Cigarette Man n his goons come to get her and then these spiritual/alien energy beings called “Walk Ins” came n got her, turned her into one of them and she became a “starlight child”. These things supposedly give children who are abducted a peaceful way to die and go to the afterlife, also leaving no physical corpse behind.

Yeah it’s hilarious, as a investigator/detective, Scullt is worthless. But they try to make up for it by making her the “muscle” of the pair and giving her Doctor/forensics skills

That was somewhat the reason for the show, the cases were unsolvable.

Were they going to refer a vampire's case to the US Attorney's Office for federal prosecution? Were they going to indict a werewolf?

You could do a whole hilarious thread on these real life federal law enforcement vs the X Files.
someone need to do these threads

I think that's the fun of the show. The 2 viewpoints battling it out, and how they end up saving each other due to their individual strengths.

I wouldn't say Scully mellows out too much as the series goes on. What's nuts to me is that she's a catholic, she can't accept the crazy shyt she sees every day, but has faith in a story that can never be proved. But that's true to life, many people are like that.
