I never understood why people say this about the 80s. The 80s made huge leaps in movie making. The prime 80s/early 90s without cgi and all real effects is the best time for films.

T2 still looks better than every action movie since and its not even better than T1.

Besides attacking cyberdyne and the intro flashback, and a good ost, effects overall. t1 does everything else better than t2. Most of whats good about it is rehashed on a new system like you said.

T1 is my favorite as well. T2 was so huge and popular when it dropped seemed like nothing could touch it. But as I got older I grew more fond of the gritty and horror aspects of part 1. I remember my dad liking part 2 but his all time favorite flick is T1 and he disliked Edward Furlongs character. I can understand now.

It's a great action movie.
The special effects hold up over a long period of time.

But acting like it's one of the best movies ever? How high are you guys ranking this? Because it's not even a Top 10 movie of the 1990s.

More like the 2010s. All the big streaming shows like Orange is the New Black, Stranger Things, and The Crown, started in the 2010s. Add in Cable shows like Game of Thrones, Insecure, and Fleabag and the 2010s might be the greatest decade in TV ever.
