80s had maybe the best comedies. Is it really the consensus that the 80s movie era was bad?
I don't think its true at all. Movies were cheesier in the 80s but I kinda enjoy that element of 80s movies. 80s comedy movies alone beat the dog shyt out of every other era.
70s films are grittier, and some are the defining classics, but a lot of stuff aged really badly.
90s had much more intelligent and cool studio movies and was a golden era for indie cinema.
Out of the 3, 70s is probably my least favorite, but I know thats partly just my age.
At least in the 80s bytches were willing to take their clothes off. Thar decade gave us numerous coming of age classic films that have been severely lacking in Hollywood.
you see itYup…. Back then there was really no diversity in films.
Sound like someone (the writer of article not the poster) wants to Make A hollywood Great Again
Go back to them good ole days
80's dramas are definitely ass. i'll give Amadeus and Raging Bull their props, but that's where it stops80s had maybe the best comedies.0
Best action/adventure flicks.
Great horror decade.
I think if they lacked in any genre it might be drama. But I am sure some people would dispute that.
70s had some of the greatest movies ever made along with some of the most influential. Might be the best decade otr.

Stand By Me, Color Purple, Do the right thing.E.T. is one of the GOAT, I'd classify that in part as a drama. Platoon. Rain Man. I'm sure there's others I can think on

Stand By Me, Dead Poets Society, Steel Magnolias, Once Upon a Time in America (depending on the cut you watch), The Breakfast Club, A Soldier's Story, Bad Boys & Colors....the 80's has plenty of drama80's dramas are definitely ass. i'll give Amadeus and Raging Bull their props, but that's where it stops

I never thought about ET like that either but that ending out does most dramas. That score.Yes i missed a few but the point remains
and no one in history other than @Eric Brooks has ever called ET a drama lol
There are decent enough dramas in the 1980s.Stand By Me, Dead Poets Society, Steel Magnolias, Once Upon a Time in America (depending on the cut you watch), The Breakfast Club, A Soldier's Story, Bad Boys & Colors....the 80's has plenty of drama
