They shoot the same amount of 3s in FIBA. That's where it comes from.

We gotta figure this out:

Are the 3s great when the European leagues do it

Are the 3s bad when the American leagues do it

:patrice:
Smaller players take more 3’s in FIBA because goons still roam the paint.

How is the process sound if continuing down that path leads to an inferior product. The best 3point shooting team doesn’t always win the chip either. If anything spamming 3s is just lazy offense for most of these teams.
I don't even think you know how to define "spamming threes"

It's just a term people use because they don't understand the concept of going for 3 points over going for 2 points.

Suppose you are playing blackjack.

The dealer is showing a 7 and you have 16.

If you play 100 hands and you hit every time and lose...was it wrong to hit on 16?

The answer is No.

The same concept applies to basketball and going for 3. When appropriate, going for 3 is the mathematically sound decision even if you miss.

Does that mean you ALWAYS shoot a 3?
No.
Because it depends. Just like you won't always be dealt a 16 in blackjack.

If you can't understand this, there's nothing else I can tell you.

So what business is the NBA in then?
I’m talking about teams. They’re tryna win games and depending on where you are, that determines whether people wanna go to games. Catching a body or seeing some wild dunk is always welcome, but if it’s down 14 because Steph and now Hield are running a train on my squad from downtown, I might need to counter that with firepower of my own or lose.

Only thing different is the crowd participation

The NBA offers more athleticism. But they've copied FIBA ball for the most part

Lowkey...Euro crowds would probably make the NBA more exciting

If you tuned into Cavs/Bulls and heard/saw this shyt would make for a more compelling watch

instead most crowds here only make noise when there's a prize on the line for a missed ft
