The 73 win Warriors had MJ stans tight all year only to see them lose to Lebron who used it to catapult himself to GOAT status. :umad:

Then the Warriors came back next year with the GOAT team which had MJ stans were claiming that the ‘96 Bulls would sweep the 2017 Warriors. Those were funny times. :laff:

The 2010s had MJ stans swinging at air for a whole decade.:mjlol:

Y’all had it so easy in the watered down 2000s. You weren’t ready for the 2010s and definitely not the 2020s. :francis:

THE 2017 WARRIORS THAT HAD TO

You guys want things that are nonsensical and will make the game worse.

The hell is this supposed to do?

The reality is we’re all getting old and the guys we grew up on and the storylines we grew up on are no longer.

Removing the easiest shot in the NBA that is also worth three points seems to make a lot of sense.

The 313
The thing is also that a fair amount of these 3s are terrible shots. Like you have random nobodies taking step-back contested threes with 14 on the clock lmao. Regardless of maths and statistics and whatnot, it's just a bad shot and half of the time even looks trash. Some guys will make it more than others, but it doesn't change the fact that in itself it's a bad shot.

I've always said that the Warriors were exciting because they had great ball and player movement on the court, leading to wide open threes. Only Curry and sometimes Klay were taking those hero three dribbles side step contested threes. Them other guys were all taking wide open threes that were coming off great passing, the play was already great before the actual shot. And they were always mixing it up. How many times did we see Steph and Klay fake the three and take a middie. Matter of fact the Dubs were KILLING teams with the middie when you add in Livingston, West, KD later, etc. It was always a big part of their game, which is something Houston never understood and we saw how that ended. Anyways all that to say that even the team seen as the ultimate three point team was actually heavilly based on passing and the midrange shot. It was the whole thing that made the cool to watch. Just like the 2014 Spurs, plus three point shots basically.

And like @Koli_Kat said, you have insane word athletes with all kind of height, jumps, strenghth etc who spend way too much time dribbling and dancing around the 3 point line and launching bad three pointers. Imagine if players like Kemp, Wilkins, Vince, Kobe, Griffin etc had spent the majority of their prime sitting at the three point line what a waste it would've been from a fan standpoint

So maybe this is where the disconnect is...

Could players take less 3s? Yes.

Are bad shots taken in essentially every game? Yes.

But I think the narrative of how many "bad shots are jacked up" is severely overstated.

Celtics take 50 threes a game, bottom-10 in passes made and assists, and top-5 in Isos

Threes are up, yet the percentages are down. That means, shot selection is at an all-time low

Man fukk what ya talking about, this shyt is terrible basketball. But ya gotta keep up appearances and don't wanna feel like you're selling out the analytic brotherhood by calling the bullshyt out

Why would the Celtics be the team to try make this point? The Celtics are defending champs, 10-3, shoot a top-10 percentage from 3, and are 2nd in the league in scoring. The Cavs, the only team that barely outscores Boston, are UNDEFEATED and shoot the best percentage in the NBA from 2 or 3. Despite this, Boston would still be favored to win a playoff series.

From what era are percentages down? 3pt percent is up from basically any era. Overall shooting percentages are similar (SLIGHTLY lower) to shooting percentages from the 80s, and higher than those from the 90s, 00s and 10s.

The Arsenal
they should use the nba cup games to experiment with getting rid of the corner 3s. they make a special court anyway so just have an arc.

Because today’s league is filled Lebron’s sons which is why MJ fans hate it so much.

Also, the league is filled with Curry and KD descendants and MJ stans still haven’t forgiven the Warriors for winning 73 games and being the GOAT team in 2017.

That’s why you nikkas struggle hating today’s era while bench players are out here doing windmills and hitting stepbacks.
Other than Ben Simmons who else is trying to play football-basketball

MLB ratings been going up for the last 2 seasons. Tennis too.
Last years World Series had the worst ratings ever, of course this year went up from that. We are talking like a 75 % downturn since the 80s.

And I don’t know what you mean with tennis cause a quick google tells me the US Open finals was the lowest ever excluding Covid :dahell:

FIBA shoots the same amount of 3s per game as the NBA per 48 minutes.

Also In 2024, NBA teams averaged 26.7 assists per game which is THE MOST IN NBA HISTORY.

Meaning that today’s NBA has more passing and ball movement that we’ve seen in NBA. :wow:

Just give it up breh. Admit that Lebron > MJ and today’s NBA > ‘90s NBA. Save yourself the embarrassment and stress and you no longer have to struggle to find reasons to hate todays NBA.
Ball movement and strategy.
Clearly your a casual that doesn’t watch Euroleague games
