What pisses me off about Alatreon is that without his supernova, he's an easy fight. Imagine you beating someone for 11 rounds then they shoot you in the 12th.

How bad is Alatreon so far?
It forces you to use certain weapons (CB, IG, DB, LS, SS)
Spams elemental attacks then nukes you with an instant kill if you don't do enough elemental damage. And he runs a lot.
That's just a bad gameplay mechanic IMO.
Your stats mean nothing if you can't defend with them, and they are admitting the fight is weak without it's gimmick.
Fighting him isn't that difficult, but he'll spam, run and then instant cart you.
What would I give it out of 10? It didn't meet my damage threshold so it nukes to a 0/10.
Yeah Alatreon is an initial challenge just in how hard he hits and getting his patterns memorized. That supernova is terrible design and orders of magnitude more frustrating than MR Kulve Taroth leaving early even though you have a 50 minute time limit. You just cannot have weak links on a team for that hunt. I've only beat it twice since the Special Assignment, and one of those we had a guy running the best support I've seen in my life.

The devs put a built-in multiplier for this quest to increase elemental damage for weapons that have low elemental damage output like the Hammer, HH, GS, etc.

Are you saying that GS/Hammer, etc does more elemental damage on Alatreon than a normal monster?

I think so. With the exception of a few monsters the game feels pretty alive. You should almost always be able to find someone that will jump in your SOS flare.
