He wasn’t that bad. He wasn’t perfect, but all he was trying to do was make sure his kids were grew up right. I think he was more realistic and relatable than other TV dads
He wasn't bad at all, Frank could be a little too strict at times but he allowed them to have a great lifestyle and a very active social life. The problem is that Mo like a lot of kids always want to test the boundaries instead of being grateful that they have a solid family structure.
Moesha is one of those shows that was actually trash. But since we can't remember it well and it was around during a certain era, it's gets tossed in there with the classics.

I challenge y'all to go back and watch the show now. You will be shocked at how you missed how trash it was.
No it's still a great show, it's just that Moesha the character is getting the same treatment Laura from Family Matters is getting. People realize that Laura and Moesha were ungrateful brats that treated people poorly when they didn't get their way.

I always liked him. He reminded me of one of my uncles.

My vote is Flex Washington from one on one. This dude really tried to play Michael Jackson even though he’s like 6’4 220

If my pops looked like this, he would have been the one in the crib crying to Uncle Phil

He was one of the heroes who survived the nuclear holocaust in The Day After, how can he be one of the worst dads ever after going through that? :troll:

I do think Moesha messed up by casting Ray J and inserting him as Frank's son but honestly, that's not the only reason why Frank's character was bad.

Character-wise the writers made him kinda bland, preachy, and even a bit awkward compared to the rest of the cast.

First off: let me say I’m disgusted that muthafuccas would even bring this up.
Like it’s necessary to further desecrate Black men on TV, especially ones who
are fathers.

That said, Frank Mitchell is a great candidate.

But the worst Black dad on TV historically is: anyone played by Ben Vereen.

- Will’s dad who wasn’t there because he had a travel gig
- Webster’s dad who wasn’t there because he had travel gig
- Chicken George, who took his chance to get off the plantation and left his family there
- Had a one-night stand (twice) with Barney Stinson’s mama and left his son
to be raised by a unbalanced White hoe, his Black son turned out to be gay

It’s almost (almost) noble how Ben Vereen took the weight of being the official
Black Father Who Left stereotype so other brothas didn’t have to fall on that sword.

At the end of the day it's a black actor working and people are aware of the behind the scenes bullshyt that led to the heel turn.

But Got damn Ben Vereen was the Bobby Womack of black TV dads. :mjlol:

It’s truly amazing how Ben Vereen was the Pump Fake Dad, yo. Especially considering he was the Wayne Brady of his day; White folks loved him because he was a singing & dancing classically trained actor muffucca...he traded it in to be Ain’t Chit Man. They think I didn’t peep the significance of him being Wayne Brady’s pop on How I Met Your Mother, but nah - I peeps game.
