He was flawed.
I think my problem is with the use of his one failing to cast everything else in a negative light.
People want to drag him for not claiming his son, fine.
But they start bringing up shyt like him getting mad at Moesha for getting a tattoo, having boys over etc. Those aren't things that make him an awful father. In the 90s, it is what you'd expect from a protective father, who isn't his kid's friend, and perhaps struggles to relate to them.
Think nowadays, kids have arrogance in their step and adults are suffering from a Peterpan syndrome. The idea of a good parent is one who doesn't set boundaries.

He was a great dad too, what is the criteria for being a good father on this forum?The only thing Flex did wrong which he acknowledged was try to be Briana's friend more than being her parent. As much as I love Sanford and Son, Fred Sanford was the worst black tv dad. Anytime Lamont wanted better for himself Fred would fake a heart attack or an illness to keep him from living his life.
Fred and Florida Evans would have made a good couple. They could both hold each back from achieving.

Moesha was a trash ass kid, friend, sister and person....I will stand stand for the disrespect her father is taking. He did the best he could do...But at least he had a bad wife. And they had to force ray weather into it...They know damn well they could of went with the Dorian needs a steady male figure in his life storyline.

he wasn't a regular character.
By this logic, Urkel's dad was the worst. He had a genius for a son and was so ashamed of him, he never gave a fukk when he was home, wasn't impressed by anything his son did, and moved to Russia to where Urkel was practically begging to move in with the Winslows. Steve's whole existence outside of simping for Laura was him desperately trying to find a father figure in Carl.
If Steve didn't have the Winslows in his life, eventually he woulda grew out of his nerd phase and became a Dragon

He said she looked like one. Keep it real, He reacted like any parent would seeing their kid show more and more skin. Every time Frank relaxed on one rule Mo would stir up some other shyt, and then claim Frank was being unfair to her.
