I always felt MJF is overrated in ring. Promos, no doubt, but in ring, he is in his words "Mid". Miz is better in ring to me, although he's the poster boy for the WWE style to a degree.

One day Miz will get his roses if wrestling fans weren't such dikkheads :francis: :

  • So safe in the ring, he makes the late great Bobby Eaton blush
  • Instant promo
  • Good storyteller
  • Murdered Daniel Bryan on his own shyt
Dude is the blueprint of the WWE.

MJF's style is so weird because he wrestles like a indy darling on OD, but he has a old school pace to it. Like dude would do wonders in the E if he dumbs down his moveset a tad bit because I can't take him seriously as a shytbird, but doing moves like he's fukking Mike Awesome.

I'm not even saying he's some great worker but when's the last time Miz had a match as good as MJF/Darby or MJF/Punk? Even if he was "carried" that works too. If Miz was better in the ring he'd be a top guy right now instead of a jobber to the stars.

I get what you are saying, but I put that more of AEW having better storylines to work around than WWE, so we care about the matches more, even if the work is mid. MJF's matches are more interesting because AEW's creative, at least for his stuff especially, is miles better than WWE's. MJF gets to have blood feuds with Punk, Darby, and Jericho around decent storylines we care about while Miz has shytty creative like fighting off zombies with Damian Priest.

MJF more consistently has good PPV matches than Miz. MJF vs Mox and Darby were great. The PPV matches with Punk and Jericho were pretty good too.

The last long MJF match I watched was with Punk, did I miss something, seemed like a fine middleweight moveset for a non-flyer to me.

Miz is very boring in the ring for me, nothing is crisp, snug, or athletic, many times Miz has sold me on a match from a decent promo but all his heat die once he in the ring. Zzz fest.

Murked Danielson once on a post show, that and maybe a Cena promo are his two gems, other than that he just saying his same schtick and is passable because he says it well compared to his cohorts.

Good storyteller, I'll give you that, he knows how to sell moments and emote hella well.

They indeed are similar, but don't see how anyone give Miz the edge unless blatant E stanning. Would wager when MJF join the E people will favor him over Miz fairly quickly. Miz gets props from me for starting as a reality star and carving a career for himself, but at the end of the day ain't nothing "must-see" about him when it really come down to it.

What a stupid, pointless work.

I'll be interested to see what else comes out on this, because there's definitely SOMETHING to this, even if he did actually show up and do the job.

Let me tell a little story here about a time I was once unhappy with my contract.

After becoming The One that put The One in 173-1, I was told on January 3rd, 1999 that I would be dropping the belt to Terry the next night on Nitro. I fought tooth and nail to get to the pinnacle of my career, and it was being taken from me and I nearly no-showed that night in Atlanta and even threw the belt right in Easy-E's face. At the end of the day though, I was in a contract and in the heat of the Monday Night Wars, the only options I had were to job to Hulk or sit on my ass for the remainder of my contract. After hearing the horrors of becoming a father from Jericho, I sucked up my pride and agreed with the plan, and to put it bluntly, Hulk didn't hold back. He was shooting in the ring on January 4th and I still feel the occasional aches and pains from that evening, but at the end of the day, I was able to put the animosity aside and have a $350 glass of cab (adjusted 2022 cost with inflation being $32,500) that night and resume being a integral part of Nitro.
