While that's true, its very likely that CM Punk becomes champ tonight and Adam Cole/Samoa Joe is about to win their whole tournament, Ruby Soho as well(although I think Britt might win)
Seems people are basing this on match outcomes instead of presentation. Nobody is getting squashed or demeaned like this is WCW in 99. They've been able to bring in some of the biggest names of their generation. Those people are gonna get pushes. I mean I get it but I'm not seeing the issue as long as the top young talents still get to go out there and get titles and high profile matches.

Punk is eventually gonna win the title, cause he is who he is. Not to mention he's more than proven himself as a top guy still.

This is why I was against the signing of all those WWE guys last year. The only one that should've been let in was Danielson. Adding Undisputed Era lite, Toni Storm, Keith Lee and the rest of them been fukking up the flow of the program. And now TK is making it a priority to pay them instead of a talent that'll carry the company in a few years? :childplease:
AEW top merchandise sellers on ShopAEW. If the piece of merchandise was for more than one person (Young Bucks, Best Friends, Blackpool Combat Club etc.), then I broke it down by indvidual
8x appearances: CM Punk (he has 4 of the 5 best sellers, 5 of the top 10)
5x appearances: Darby Allin, Malakai Black (has the #10 seller)
4x appearances: Hangman, Sting, Jon Moxley, Orange Cassidy
3x appearances: Kenny Omega, Adam Cole (he has the #3 best seller), Bryan Danielson (has the #7 best seller), Wheeler Yuta
2x appearances: Britt Baker, Brodie Lee, Danhausen (has the #8 best seller), HOOK, Penta, Chuck Taylor, Trent Beretta, Kris Statlander, William Regal
1x appearances: Eddie Kingston, Dax Harwood, Cash Wheeler, Rey Fenix, MJF, Kyle O'Reilly, The Hardys, Thunder Rosa, Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, Bobby Fish, Brody King, Buddy Matthews

Now for prowrestlingtees.com since some of the wrestlers sell stuff outside the AEW shop...
9x appearances: CM Punk
5x appearances: Malakai Black
4x appearances: Hangman, Orange Cassidy
3x appearances: Adam Cole, Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega, Wheeler Yuta
2x appearances: Britt Baker, Chuck Taylor, Danhausen, Darby Allin, HOOK, Kris Statlander, Sting, Trent Beretta, William Regal
1x appearances: Brodie Lee, Cash Wheeler, Dax Harwood, Eddie Kingston, Kyle O'Reilly, Matt Jackson, MJF, Nick Jackson, Penta, Rey Fenix, The Hardys, Thunder Rosa

I am pretty surprised at how much merch Malakai Black is selling. #2 in the whole damn company, wow. No one even in the same stratosphere as CM Punk though.

They have 4 shows.
Like people can complain about Dark and Elevation being main event but some people just wanna wrestle and they got them flex contracts to do indies.

That said Im also sure theres people on the talent without that perspective
Dark and Dark Elevevation shouldn't even count as legit wrestling. It's just squash matches for the most part anymore.

And CM Punk is one of the most popular guys in the company and in wrestling. Only five active male wrestlers have more Twitter followers than Punk - Orton, Sheamus (how??), Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and The Miz

It would be stupid not to put the title on him at some point.

I think MJF is basically saying if I’m a top star here then I should be paid like a top star. It’s probably frustrating seeing all these ex WWE guys come in and get big contracts and main event pushes while he is still getting paid on a “rookie” contract.

However this no show, asking to be released stuff these wrestlers are doing is super unprofessional and it gives the perception that as soon as you are not booked the way you think you deserve, you will not show up.

MJF is a heel, he is supposed to lose his feuds. He gets the freedom of talking all the shyt he wants and gets to embarrass the face on TV but he has to lose at the PPV. So I think it’s dumb if he’s is mad at the booking

Heels got to win the titles too though, can't always be faces. Don't see any reason why MJF couldn't have won the TNT title at some point instead of having Sammy and Cody being responsible for 6 of its 11 reigns. With the way he acting, a TNT title wouldn't have been big enough for his ego though, I'm guessing.

I agree. I understand a wrestler being pissed enough to walk out, but help someone before you do. With the Sasha/Naomi thing I've said that I understand(unless the rumors are true), but they still fukked up. If I'm Bianca I'm never speaking to Sasha again. I think MJF cares to much about Wardlow to leave him hanging.

I think the situations are different. This is a star making moment for Wardlow as opposed to Sasha & Naomi just stat padding for Bianca/Ronda in a throwaway PPV match.

I think AEW has done well with showcasing "homegrown"talent (or at least people who werent as known before AEW). People can complain about signing too many new people but its like who would have left from the past 8 months? A lot of the signings were a reaction to diversity/women issue and just dope talent that was around.
Also they got RoH that they need to supply when it gets going. Just cause its not there right now doesnt mean you dont have people on deck to move.

Yeah too many people is an issue because other people dont get a chance but I also looked at AEW as a roatating roster, design to keep things fresh. It wasnt that long ago people were complaining that the Dark Order was on too much and now people miss them. so idk man like the overinflated roster is a valid thing but I dont think its done without reason.

All this is aew marks talking point. Guy really played the rotating talent card too :beli:

I dont get how this is an excuse as much as it just the way it is with a roster that big. Which by the way has always been how major promotions roster size is .

All you gotta do is go on fite or watch pro wrestling and you always see talent thats not on Dynamite and Rampage always at some indie PPV. When Keira and Red Velvet werent on tv always you saw them there.

I always looked at it as Superstars/Challenge which is exactly that but theres always room to do some programmes there. Sonny Kiss and Janela had their feud there (which lbr if it had been on the main shows people would have complained about it taking time)
Maybe they could intergrate recaps of what happened on there to make them matter but either way I always figure they have some form value to keep things cooking
