Another AEW star missed yesterday’s fan fest, but it’s a much less controversial tale than the MJF story.

ROH World Television Champion Samoa Joe was, unfortunately, unable to appear at yesterday’s Fan Fest event despite being advertised. This was apparently due to a mix-up in scheduling, according to Sean Ross Sapp from “Fightful”, and Joe instead attended a voiceover session for a new project.

Joe is scheduled to face Adam Cole in the finals of the men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament tonight, with the winner receiving the Owen Cup trophy awarded to them by Dr. Martha Hart, herself. Joe defeated Max Caster from The Acclaimed in the qualifying round, Johnny Elite in the quarterfinals, and Kyle O’Reilly in the semifinals to make it to the final round this evening.

MJF reportedly spotted gambling during the meet and greet yet no one has pictures of him at any casino. The late night flight that was booked by a mystery party that MJF never got on. The threat of no showing tonight's event. All this smells of a work.

Him being angry at his contract situation is legit tho. MJF was the only AEW original who signed for 5 years while everyone else signed for 2-3 years. Since then all his contemporaries have re-signed for more money except him. Britt Baker, Sammy, Darby etc.. all got new deals while MJF is still on his old deal. Then you add in all the new guys coming in like Jeff Hardy, Keith Lee, Swerve and the rest who are all making more money than him. He's probably feeling some type of way about this on some "I put in more work than these people, I should be paid more than them".

No one forced him to sign that 5 year deal. This ain't a charity and Tony Khan is not your friend. He should take this as a learning lesson on how to do business in the future

MJF always strikes me as someone who won't be around for that long, and regardless of how stupid of them to leave his current position a lot of wrestlers will always be star struck with the opportunity to wrestle for the E...even though his ceiling will legit be Miz without the A list gimmick...

Heels got to win the titles too though, can't always be faces. Don't see any reason why MJF couldn't have won the TNT title at some point instead of having Sammy and Cody being responsible for 6 of its 11 reigns. With the way he acting, a TNT title wouldn't have been big enough for his ego though, I'm guessing.

He won that dynamite diamond ring bullshyt. But I also don’t agree with Sammy Guevara having multiple tnt title runs. I think MJF dominating that title for about a year could be great for him and that title. But I don’t think this is about booking because he hasn’t lost a title match either. Since he hasn’t been in any, he should honor his contract and when it’s time to renew they should only come at him with Top guys money.

But don’t sign a deal and then act like a baby when you realize you are over performing your contract. You have to start asking for other things to make up for it

Some folks just got to learn the hard way that working more ain't always better. Used to work a job putting in like 50-60 hours a week on the regular and I'm in a job now working 36, life so much better ever since. I'm never going back to that 50-60+ hour a week bullshyt.
