Im legit sad over this shyt
I tried to listen for even a little bit everyday for at least the last 10 years
My favorite memory of the show is when I was in the whip with the kids and their mom and the show was starting. They all started singing the theme song together. The kids were like 7 and 5. It was the first and last time they sang it. It was also done randomly. They didn't set it up or nothing. It just happened.

I was listening the day before his last show and players and stuff were calling in. I only caught 2 hours but besides the athletes many personalities were calling in thanking him for giving them a start. Linda Cohn, Jay Glazer, Ian Eagle. It was the first sports station. A lot of people came up under him in one way or another

Listening to that muthafukka since the early 90s cause of my dad... I used to think he was the only black man in NY still listening to AM radio :laff:

Real shyt though it was the Kellerman/S.A Smith team that made me fall in love with sports talk radio back in the mid 2000s.

Im Dominican. I only know black and Spanish people. I don't know anybody else who listens to the show

Also, one of my favorite times as a listener was when Mike and Kim Jones were discussing the Penn State pedo saga. They were on that topic for what seemed like weeks and it was all very informative and :ohhh:

Mike got deep into ethics and shyt at these schools, as you know Mike used to do TV for college football way back when.

Word I remember some Penn State fans calling up trying to shift the blame off Joe Paterno, and Mike kept it a buck all the way, telling them, "he built da place, you trying to tell me the most powerful man on campus, who has buildings and libraries built, didn't know what was going on?" :martin:

Mike didn't play politics.hes the last guy left who wasn't concerned with offending powerful people or trying to be buddy buddy with athletes he would bash anyone

Now all that's left is made up contrived arguments and made up "rants"

Mike had a lot of faults (a lot of them are what made him entertaining) but you can never say he was gimmicky he stayed true to himself

On a side note I wish there was someone who had a lot of old mike and Dog shows from back in the day and would post the audio on the internet. I'd love to listen to old school mike and Dog and see what they said about players or a subject 25 years ago

I heard him last night he wanted all his missive clips reading George Steinbrenner statements. I’ve been saying that for years those shyts were straight up classics. Me and my brother would die laughing.
