We're talking yearly salary. Yes sh*t has shifted recently with higher inflation but $400K is still way above middle class. Middle class was always that- in the middle, the standard, the average that's right above low income-poor status. $400K is not an average salary. Only a extremely small percentage of people make that and above. $80-150K is the middle and mostly that's without buying designer, tricking, multiple vacations, and not eating out as much.
