Pure uncut truth and facts.

And common fukkin sense
.

:ohhh:

:ohhh:
Studios are closing regardless of how much money they did or didn't spend on them right now. These games cost too much to make even if you buying them traditionally according to those sony docs, but y'all don't want to have that conversation.

Literally everyone in the industry making these same moves.

From nintendo to Sony, Square, Tencent, and everybody in between.

But for whatever reason when microsoft does it everybody collectively goes nuts.

3 pages.

19 in here tho :hubie:

How you going to blame AAA games for Xbox’s problems when they’ve released like 2 over the last 6 or so years?

:mjlol:

EDIT: Folks didn't even read the article he posted. That article about is how Gamepass is the reason for Xbox's recent issues.

:wow:

That article is the narrative running around on Twitter because The studio that made hifi rush got closed.

:mjlol:

He is saying that, that article focused on Xbox but he was letting people know it's all of the big dogs closing studios for various reasons.

Aka it's not just some Xbox mismanagement or random greed. (It is corporate greed though) And it's something all of gaming is going through. Mostly because the cost of making games is going up tremendously but the profit isn't.

Nobody tryna end up in a Rare situation.
Who is this “collective”??

The game was out on Xbox, Steam, and then Playstation and still couldn’t find an audience. The playstation release was probably the last straw. The game just wasn’t appealing to a broad enough audience to justify continued investment.

As for tango. They’ve only ever released middling to flops despite their fandom on forums. Evil within 1 and 2 didn’t make much money. Ghostwire was a flop. Hifi got attention from reviewers but did not catch on with the people actually buying and playing games.

Nobody is investing “for the culture” Sony did the same thing with the gravity rush developers.

Gravity rush was a critical hit, with people on forums talking about how great it was. It sold like shyt, sony closed the studio. That’s how business works :manny:

Something ain't adding up.

Help me understand. What do they want? Big AAA exclusives, or Game Pass success? They're not moving towards either.

As i said in the first post the game was never gonna be a huge seller.

They have trends and metrics to go on. I’m sure it was never expected to be huge, which is why it could meet or exceed expectations but still not be a big seller.

When it’s time to cut costs and consolidate resources, these are the first games to go. Bethesda is printing money with fallout 76, Elder scrolls online etc. Makes all the sense in the world to consolidate resources on those games like them.

If it’s gonna take 200 mill and 6 years to make a game, Investors want those games to be a lot less risky. Tied to a popular franchise or IP, or sure fire gaming trend. HiFi is a hard sell to investors.
