Disney had concessions based on the company as it would be at the time of the merger.

This was blocked on the pretense that one day cloud gaming might be big and right now in its infancy we suspect Microsoft is already too powerful in the space for newcomers to deal with. The same Microsoft that’s a distant 3rd in the console space is suddenly a juggernaut in cloud?

People here argue all the time that Microsoft should build up from scratch a beloved brand. The government is literally arguing that’s not really possible using the cloud as an example because if you have game brands customers care about that trumps all.

The CMA never really had intentions on approving this, initially COD was the linchpin once that got broken down because of the "high end market" situation and MS providing 10 year deals. They pivoted to cloud, something Sony is actually weak in and MS isn't.

It's why you saw those deals go out that were basically just like the ones for COD. So Microsoft clearly knew that the cloud space was going to be a point of contention...

It's clear that the CMA just doesn't want this to happen.

Xbrehs got no faith at all that they can actually put out games from their 25 studios

MS still owns a ton of companies that they can focus on to build up, so I don't get the gloom from xbox fans. And every Acti/Blizzard game will still be released day-and-date.

This is wild, on the smallest thing too. CMA definitely being petty here because their original plan to block the deal got bushed with undeniable receipts showing they basically didn’t know what the fukk they was talking about.

Looks like MS and activision definitely plan to contest this, and based on what it was blocked on, this prolly they best chance they would have had to contest a block in the first place.

But it’s obvious they gonna have to bend the knee a lil bit, wonder how much they really to sacrifice to get this deal approved…..this prolly gonna take another few years to finally be over whatever the outcome

fukk Xbox, fakkit asses need to just make some good games and stfu but they wanted to do everything except that. They're the reason gaming is so watered down now.

Xbox was the herald of the graphics whore era where stans had to vouch for realistically rendered grass instead of good games. Now that the AAA graphics games are extremely expensive to make and graphical improvements have plateaued the chickens are coming home to roost. So these nikkas are straight up just trying to buy their way past the competition via monopoly now. Just awful. How can any consumer root for this?

They embraced the lowest common denominator in gaming being the brand choice of mountain dew guzzling neckbeard FPS only casual gamers to their own detriment. Let these nikkas fade away and bring back sega consoles
