Exactly they don't, and I use the term "buying up" loosely.

They really only need 2 or 3 in japan and ABK and like 1 or 2 more in general and they are good as long as everyone can produce quality content. I guess that's why I don't see this doomday scenario yall see. MS isn't going to just keep buying up publisher to keep them out of other people's hands. That would be silly. They also aren't likely to spend money to just block games from competitors as that would be a waste to for the direction they are going. Once they have a solid front line, second line and 3rd string their focus should shift drastically. Right now they need to have enough to support gamepass, and potentially mobile if the deals goes through.
They literally just said it in plain english that the plan was to do the opposite of everything you're saying. Phil told you the doomsday scenario and you're saying you don't see it.

I don't know why anyone would actually want this. Sony or Microsoft. I don't want either of these companies buying up so many publishers that we get down to the single digits. More competition being better for the consumer is the standard in every business industry in the world.

Business is business though. This will go through like every big merger. More companies will get bought up. Options get scarce. Profits go up. The game is the game

It's insane that you'd be OK with microsoft buying 5 more publishers on top of activision and Bethesda.

Having activision would put microsoft on par with sony in terms of revenue, and you think they'd need 5 more publishers after that??

Want? No. Never said that.

Expect, yes.

Just because I like to troll Sony Stan's and their foolishness doesn't mean I want anyone company over most things. But that's literally all mega corp businesses around the world this day and age and based on company history MS has proven more consumer friendly( in recent decades) than Sony and Nintendo (in all decades) in regards to when they have the control over market share. So it's the lesser of 3 evils.

If Sony wasn't so he'll bent on blocking and locking 3rd party publishers games for Xbox then you wouldn't have to worry about MS trying to circumvent them by just owning the IP and product.

Instead, you have Sony Stan's in here saying I don't want consolidation, then saying well MS needs to figure out a way with all that money they have to compete with the exclusive 3rd party games that Sony is locking MS out of.

They need consistent "owned" content that they can't get locked out of. Especially in the Japanese area.

I'm ok with MS competing with Sony and Nintendo yes. I don't want anyone entity to control the majority of a space. Which currently Sony does.

I'm curious is to what you think MS could do realistically to make it so that they can compete in the market on going? To keep it feasible, let's say what could they do so that half of the people that have a playstation world wide would also have own a Xbox or gamepass?

Japan UK USA, world wide...

do you think that if they released a smash hit game every year people would own all three system in a decade?

This is with Sony continuing to block, lock up and stop 3rd party games.

Basically. MS uses their strengths (and what works) and they cry.

So busy sucking off and caping for a Japanese company who uses their market position to bully everyone else. Corny as hell. If Sony played fair, we wouldn't be here.

From the outside and in europe the vibe is MS are lying b*stards and are getting exposed. I come here and see the complete opposite.

Ding ding ding

Guys spent years hyping up third party exclusives, times exclusives, and general money hatting and now they seem upset when the inevitable happens

They don't even have to play fair, it's business I get it.

But Sony stans acting like they don't understand why MS is trying to do what they are doing is hilariously ironic. In one breath they don't want one company to control most of the industry, meanwhile that's exactly what Sony does and has done it's entire gaming conception just about and it's not even like Stans are protecting self interest, it's not like playstation provides some fantastic value for gaming.
just like their leader Jim Ryan, "They just don't want the deal to go through" :mjlol:

I really want it to be good because it looks like an amazing game, but I can’t imagine the emotions these hardcore Xbox stans are gonna go through if Starfield is anything below great, I have literally never seen such a huge gamer base hang off the hype of one game the way they have on Starfield lol
