I think this ultimately drives your opinion on his decision. My parents took a second mortgage and dipped prematurely into their retirement accounts so it would be nothing for me to give them 500k. On the other hand if they just did the bare minimum and didn't do anything extra for me I probably would keep all the money for myself

Absolutely. I value my mother for making the moves that would benefit me in the future. One day I'll be able to do the same for my own, if possible.

And your parents sound like really awesome people! Cherish them forever!

Cause the only way she'd be satisfied is if she swore she took more than I had.

If the parents are good parents they will put that money away for their son and not spend it like fools.

Let's be real...the prevailing mentality for a lot parents is that "You fukking owe cause I made you..."

And when money comes into play...it's different...

And there are some 19 year olds and shyt with good sense...

Im not 19 anymore. My Mom does still have a lot of medical bills so maybe I would give her the money today. The fact that we dont even know the families situation and people are shytting on the kid is just weird to me.

I've always been good with money. So even say 19 I would not have blown it. I was in college, as were my three siblings, so I would've covered everybody's education, took the fam on a vacation and stacked the rest.
