I told them if I won the lottery...yall ain't getting shyt...none of my extended family getting shyt...

Giving your parents what is essentially a short term loan isn't the definition of taking care of a parent. The lottery winner gives his parents the 500k today, they pay off their mortgage, cars, credit card bills etc and boost their credit score up to the high 800s. In 5 or 10 years let's say the kid wants to start a business or buy a house but had insufficient credit history. The parents swoop in and cosign and get those good rates which ultimately yields a higher profit for the son himself. On the flip side, had he kept that money to himself, unless he's in the minority of financially savvy teenagers, the money gets ran through and in a few years he's potentially struggling and the parents aren't able to help him to the best extent

He's only 19 so his parents will probably still be helping him for the next 10 years or so of his life. By giving it them they'll probably be able to get their debts paid off and be in a better position to help him in the future. He really made a round about investment into himself

I dont know the kid's situation but more often then not... Certain people arent to be trusted with LARGE sums of money, parents included... I always look at the worst case scenario...
