This was very nice of him to do. The temptation to be in college around all those wild girls and they all saw the news and know you have half a million dollars in the bank. He probably thought about throwing a big party and hire Big Sean to perform. He had to think about that long and hard. Most of these family related lottery stories are parents winning and splitting it with their kids or promising to give the kids and grandkids a lot of the money. Congrats to him and his family on the win.

He must really value his parents. Something not seen everyday.
I think this ultimately drives your opinion on his decision. My parents took a second mortgage and dipped prematurely into their retirement accounts so it would be nothing for me to give them 500k. On the other hand if they just did the bare minimum and didn't do anything extra for me I probably would keep all the money for myself

If only the world were so perfect

45-50 percent of pregnancies are unintended...a lot of people have children and they have no business having kids...
http://www.cnn.com/2016/03/02/health/unintended-pregnancy-rate/

The researchers found that the proportion of pregnancies in the United States that were unintended dropped from 51% of all pregnancies between 2006 to 2010 to 45% between 2009 and 2013. Looking at women 15 to 44 years old in the general population, they determined that 54 out of 1,000 women had an unintended pregnancy between 2006 and 2010, compared with only 45 out of 1,000 in the more recent period.

The cost of a child is currently at a quarter million dollars
Cost of raising a child: $233,610

A lot of people need to stop fukking and creating kids that will basically be debt slaves to have a living...

Any child that feels the need to take care of a parent does not understand the burden that the parent put them in...if they do not have a quarter million dollars...

Just to get a decent job...you will have to go to college and put yourself into massive debt...just so you can live...you probably gonna be broke as fukk for the rest of life but at least you got some money to put a roof over your head.

People out here are creating debt slaves...cause they are broke as fukk and having kids and have no business having kids...

This young man...pretty much wrecked his life giving his parents the money...

Because a 19 year old with 500k more likely than not will spend it friviously. You may have navigated the world at 18 with no parental help, but most certainly do not. Who do you think is supporting late 20 year olds still working on advanced and professional degrees

The parents keeping the 500k are lookin out for themselves

I dont know the kid's situation but more often then not... Certain people arent to be trusted with LARGE sums of money, parents included... :beli: I always look at the worst case scenario...

He could have put half in some sort of IRA, made investments and kept it moving... :manny:

worst case scenario? why bother with that? that will take care of itself.....

IRA's are capped at $5500, ....that leaves $494,500 to do something else with....unless mom and dad did it but thats capped at $13,500....

hopefully the fam will invest in something worthwhile after paying off debt
