Michael Dunn killed a brother went to trial and didn't even get charged with the murder he committed.

He didn't get charged with the murder because there was a dispute over whether or not it was premeditated, or if it was a sudden act of rage. There's no question over whether or not it was a murder.

You're completely diverting the issue. The issue is that we have tons of black kids dying every year, and yet only a small minority of blacks speak out on it. In this forum, very very few people will talk about black on black crime. But when a white man kills a black kid you get a 125+ page thread.

It just seems very disingenuous to me when I hear black people talking about how they care for trayvon or jordan davis. On what basis do you care about them? Because you care about the life of a black child? Then why is there not a 125+ page thread here talking about the murder epidemic we have in our own neighborhoods? Why is a black life only valued when its taken by a white person?

Matter of fact your response completely proves what I'm saying. Instead of trying to give me examples of how we ARE talking about black on black crime, you try to JUSTIFY the fact that we're not talking about it. You focus on what happens to the murderers of black people, but what about the murder victims? Regardless of who's getting justice, it doesn't change the fact that our people would be MUCH better off if we toned down the violent crime in our communities.

Pretty sure this case garnered attention, because once again people were interested in seeing if Florida could get an open and shut case right, and once again we (and by we this should include all Americans of rational body and mind) were let down.

Obviously you think so poorly of black people, that you assume every black male exists autonomously from mainstream culture, and institutional determinisms. As if we were sub human. You're either too dumb, or too full of self hate to recognize how a case like this influences black people as a whole, and this black on black crime "epidemic" as it were. Black people are constantly assaulted with this idea that our lives are meaningless, or dont carry the same weight as others --- this sort of anomie drives dysfunctional outcomes.

The fact that you're black makes this all the more perverse, but it doesnt shake me too much because its just further evidence that race is simply a social construct. Men like yourself, Justice Thomas, Larry Elder, Jesse Lee Peterson, etc can be black, and harbor racism against black people. You would think that an issue like this would resonate with you --- individuals are going to do what they do, but our system of law is supposed to be impartial and protect us all, yet there is a clear bias that expresses itself again and again. As a young black man, I guess you cant see yourself in the shoes of a Jordan Davis...you're minding your own business when a white man provokes a confrontation with you, he murders you, shows no remorse, comes up with a flimsy and easily disprovable reason for murdering you --- and white people still protect him and value his life over yours in a court of law.
