dont shoot the messenger I'm just relaying something posted on realgm about a deal allegedly being discussed

Heat send Wolves - #10 Pick, Napier, McRoberts

Wolves send Heat - Kevin Martin, Shabazz Muhammad, #31 pick

:ld: Minnesota has been a trade partner in the past, @tremonthustler1 what's your honest assessment of Muhummad? not a fan of Martin's game tbh
Hell no.

In a perfect world, Riley has made it clear he would like to draft a player similar to Golden State shooting guard Klay Thompson, who was the 11th pick of the 2011 draft. A player such as Thompson would complement the Heat’s current backcourt, which is heavy on attackers but could use some additional shooting touch from outside. “A lot of times you have a player or two players who are playmakers that are your best playmakers and your best scorers, but they might not have that kind of range or that kind of game, so you need to go out and get two or three of those kinds of players,” Riley said after the regular season. “And so, while we felt we had enough maybe on the perimeter, that might be an area where we look, but I don’t want to be a one-dimensional guy.”
That would be Devin Booker...

Pass on Booker.

Hayward up until last year was meh at best. Klay is good.

Also we would be dumb as fukk to do that Timberwolves trade lol. Wtf are we getting out of that? That trade alone right there should send Riley to retirement if he does that lmao!!

I could see why they might be thinking of this. I mentioned something to Tre about Mcroberts for Martin in the draft thread.

here's probably what they are thinking with that trade, you get, in Martin, a vet backup scoring guard for Wade and a good shooter both 3s and free throws. in Shabazz you get a young SF. now if you believe Shabazz is going to be better than say a Stanley Johnson, then :manny: as for Napier...the fact is Tyler Johnson is probably just as good if not better than him at the moment. Finally with the 31st pick that upshaw kid might still be there for you and now you have a young Center to eventually replace Birdman and some Whiteside insurance :yeshrug: at 1st glance this doesn't look like such a bad deal imo

Bruuuuuuh, wtf you smoking on?? That trade is not tempting wth? :dahell:
For the wing depth I think it is tempting. You look at a team like Houston and what they are able to offer on the perimeter in Harden, Ariza, Brewer..Martin/Shabazz are different players but when you add Wade, Deng, Ennis I could see why the staff might like that versatility.

Also Im starting to get intrigued by Devin Booker

I would want a 2018 1st(top 10 protected) as well from you guys, but I think Pat would do it.
The move you suggested gives us a quality vet, Riley is not that high on young players though(Muhammed).

Muhammad at the moment is our best wing player. Yes that includes Wiggins too.

Minny's trying to consolidate picks to hopefully land a PG. Napier would be unnecessary and they have no use for McRoberts or his contract.

Turner will be there at 10, and you said you're not that high on Dieng.
Sure Napier is turning 24 and didn't have the best year, but he plays hard on d and can hit 3s(.360 shooter last year).

Martin is good on one side of the floor. Im tired of that shyt. Martin is lights out when he is hot. But other then that he offers very little after that. Shabazz was ok last season but im still not giving up our #10 pick.

Like i said the front office doesnt need to get cute & try to make a trade. Take the BPA & devlop him. Im just not feeling that trade. shyt seems like a straight slap in the face.

I don't like Turner either. Be that as it may, the team already looks like they're gonna add 2 rookies not including Bjelica. They're not gonna add a third and have rookies everywhere starting (and they'd rather go after Tyus Jones as a backup to Rubio than Napier)

Would I deal Dieng + Martin in a package that gets me the 10th pick? ONLY is Hezonja was there. Besides, if we land Towns, Dieng's a backup where he should be. I'm not trading Bazz in a deal just to move up a draft board.

That's who I thought of after I read that. Hopefully he falls to us.
No one has him projected as high as 10 yet. They have him going in the 12-15 range. That's because he's an inch shorter than they thought(6'4.5"), he's the youngest player in the draft, and he's not an explosive athlete. Klay had the same issues, but he came into the league 3 years older than Booker will. That's 3 extra years to develop him at the NBA level. And he's a pure shooter and a good defender.

I think he's one of those guys that'll move up draft board after he works out for teams, like Elfrid Payton last year.

But Stanley Johnson is only 4 months older, 40 lbs heavier, half an inch taller, has a wingspan 3 inches longer, and could be a very good defender in the league right away. He was forced into the draft a year early, and probably would've been a top 5 pick next year. So he could be a steal at 10. He's just more of a 3 and D guy that could become an elite perimeter defender.

So it'll come down to now vs. the future and I'd expect Riley to think now. But Devin Booker could be a useful shooter right away and potentially could be the future of the franchise down the line...
