:beli: team sucks & the only reason they will make the playoff/play in are the Bulls suck, the Sixers can't get healthy & the Nets are tanking
They’ve been needing to tank for a long time :francis:. Every year they have a supporting cast that’s good enough but not the star slashing guard or forward to build it around while they’re also usually weak on the glass and at blocking shots.

Yea we are kinda stuck. We have no choice but to try to win and make the playoffs. Hopefully in the off-season we can leverage our pick, golden states pick, terry's expiring, and whatever else to get a true number one option.

Tyler has been playing great but I think he would be better suited as a number two option on a contending team.

WHERE ARE YOU GONNA
GET A TRUE #1 OPTION WITH THAT GARBAGE?

Jimmy was that guy. Pat whiffed one too many times. :francis:

I don’t know where we’ll get that replica. But it’s time to tank. Fr fr. Wiggins ain’t that guy.

Jimmy was a perfect #2, but they just weren’t gonna win a title with him as the top guy. You generally need a 25+ per game guy who keeps the ball moving, is a 3 level scorer, and can make it happen on offense and defense as the top guy. He meets most of those criteria, but not the scoring one. I say it all the time in this thread, but look at the best player on every champion since the merger. Outside of 2013-14 Tony Parker or Tim Duncan (which is debatable), in a 7 game series the only best player on a championship team I’d take Jimmy over are Isaiah Thomas in 1989 or 1990, Chauncey Billups in 2004, and Jason Tatum from last year. Once Joe Cronin refused to send Dame here, Pat needed to blow it up.

:mjlol:NONE OF THESE NUMBER ONE SCORERS
ARE MAKING IT COUNT ON DEFENSE.

YOU PUT KD, BOOKER, STEPH, DAME, ETC
ON THOSE HEAT TEAMS WITHOUT JIMMY
AND NONE ARE MAKING THE FINALS

I didn’t say anything about Booker. Without a great point guard I don’t expect teams to go far with him as a top scorer. Dame gives you more on offense to make up for his bad defense, but the plan wasn’t get get Dame at the cost of Jimmy. The roster they had would’ve been able to cover Dame’s bad defense. Steph & KD I’d absolutely take over Jimmy. That’s a combined 6 scoring titles, 3 MVP awards, and 10 all NBA first team awards between them. Consensus top 20 players of all time.

Let’s look at every champion since 1980’s best player:
1980: Kareem
1981: Bird
1982: Kareem or Magic
1983: Moses
1984: Bird
1985: Kareem or Magic
1986: Bird
1987: Magic
1988: Magic
1989-90: Thomas (I might take Jimmy)
1991-93: MJ
1994-95: Hakeem
1996-98: MJ
1999: Duncan
2000-02: Shaq
2003: Duncan
2004: Billups (I said I’d take Jimmy over him)
2005: Duncan
2006: Wade
2007: Duncan
2008: Garnett
2009-10: Kobe
2011: Dirk
2012-13: LeBron
2014: Duncan or Parker (I might take Jimmy)
2015: Curry
2016: LeBron
2017-18 Steph or KD
2019: leonard
2020: LeBron
2021: Giannis
2022: Steph
2023: Jokic
2024: Tatum (I’d take Jimmy)

That’s an uphill battle

Yes fool! I’d take Jimmy over them too. What don’t y’all understand about Jimmy immediately coming to Miami and matching bron and Wades post season output? Almost immediately! :dahell:

Why is everyone trying to concoct a fantasy world where Jimmys runs never happened?

We would be 4th in the east if we closed out these games :beli:

Despite the loss, if we win against Washington we can close this home stand 3-1. We travel to Cleveland then have a 5 game home stand afterward. We just need to keep trending upward and hopefully we can get to the sixth seed.
