It doesn't sound like a long time, but three minutes is a LONG time to be in an altercation. Three minutes probably feels like an eternity when you're being beaten and restrained.
Boxers have to train their bodies to be able to fight for three minutes, the average civilian doesn't have that type of endurance.
That beating must've been hell for Tyre Nichols.
They didn't have to do that brother like that.

One of the many sad angles of all of this, is the way white people will be using the actions of these 5 Black cops for a lonnng time to defend the actions of white cops in the future. On some “they’re not racist! Look at the tyre case, that was 5 black cops! It’s not about race!”…

They already are... I brought up this story at happy hour and some clear folks made that their whole angle. I made sure they paid for my tab... But they took glee in the fact that all of the officers were black.

They're trying to get as many people off the street as possible as you know how hell that 5pm traffic can be. I would imagine that a lot of people are going to try and leave work early since the city has cancelled all public events for the night and essentially telling people to go straight home.

I feel like if they had released this video anytime between Monday and yesterday, the response might not have been that bad.

These guys have already been arrested and charged, doing all this is just giving certain people more time to make this response worse.

3 minutes is a very very long time in this case. A one minute fist fight can seem long and that's one on one. Imagine 5 on 1 for 3 minutes. These fukking dudes.

At first they originally told the family 1-2 before the video was released, but I’m guessing the arrest and charges sped up the timeline.
