They're trying to get as many people off the street as possible as you know how hell that 5pm traffic can be. I would imagine that a lot of people are going to try and leave work early since the city has cancelled all public events for the night and essentially telling people to go straight home.They pepper sprayed and tased him

Some people are just sadists and get an adrenaline rush when harming others. A lot of cops and soldiers go into the profession just so they can have the opportunity to satisfy their sadistic urges. When there are multiple cops involved it turns into pure mob violence and all logic and self restraint goes out the window. I wouldn't be surprised if all those cops involved felt a certain amount of overwhelming pleasure beating him like they did. Its sick and depraved but there are people like this in our society. And many of them occupy positions of authority. We have to do a better job as a society vetting sociopaths and psychopaths from positions of authority.Somebody help me understand what goes on in the heads of cops when they do shyt like this
Like...not only morally, but logically? Did they think they were just going to kill this guy and go home like nothing happened? Didn't they realize they were throwing their lives and careers away? What would even motivate this type of behavior? Even when I've been shytface drunk around people I don't really like I've never actually wanted to kill somebody, much less actually tried to do so.
Honestly I just don't get it from a psychological point.
