it's got good reviews on IMDB and RT though. :manny:

Sounds like more ppl are more upset with the fact that Mel Gibson is involved than the actual movie itself, looking for shyt and trying to make it fit.

I mean, no one has any issues with dirty cops in movies and shows like training day or the sHield.

regardless, I may or may not watch this, but it won't be because of the reviews posted here.

The movie is about a racist cop who towards the end of his career is suspended for police brutality. With a sick wife at home and his pension in danger, he convinces his younger partner to rob a mobster, with increasingly violent consequences. All of the reviews say it's an unflinching and sometimes hard-to-watch crime thriller, the one in the OP claims that for all its display of police brutality and cops turning corrupt, it somehow still is a "right wing fantasy" of some sorts.

Perhaps that is why it's being called an alt-right fantasy. Poor valiant cop who dedicated decades to protecting and serving sees it all thrown into jeopardy over a brutality accusation. This forces him down a path of violence and destruction. Poor piggly wiggly :mjcry::comeon:

How are brehs reading the OP and not seeing this as a racist movie? Am I trippin or can yall just not be bothered to read?
Because the OP is only one opinion out of many, and the only review I have seen making these claims.

No surprise, both those guys are right wing maniacs, and it's harder for me to enjoy any of their earlier work, I will not see this movie. It is repulsive that trash like this gets made. And people act in it.

Obviously, it is a right wing "ANTI SJW" fantasy, because while they are criminals and "bad cops", they are antiheroes in the most twisted sense of the word, who are "just two old school mens men", driven to crime because of (shockingly) his DYING WIFES disease. That positions these guys as antiheroes, not villains.

Though, a friend told me a hilarious story about watching that Cell Block 99 movie, which he thought was a comedy, because of Vaughn, until getting like 30 min, brutal violence and graphic beatings, and he was committed, and finished it, like at 9:00 AM like what did I just watch?

It's pandering to the current political climate , look a that Peppermint movie for another example
