The movie is about a racist cop who towards the end of his career is suspended for police brutality. With a sick wife at home and his pension in danger, he convinces his younger partner to rob a mobster, with increasingly violent consequences. All of the reviews say it's an unflinching and sometimes hard-to-watch crime thriller, the one in the OP claims that for all its display of police brutality and cops turning corrupt, it somehow still is a "right wing fantasy" of some sorts.
I don't really understand how someone could not understand that this clearly IS a right wing fantasy, of "real men" who are "not politically correct", and offensive to just about every minority group possible, and represent the id of many "alpha male" racists.
Yeah I'm shocked how people aren't seeing it either.

Also the idea that corrupt cops is not the current right wing fantasy completely overlooks the support these people are giving to police officers who are clearly killing people for bullshyt reasons. As well as the support they give to political leaders who are also being tied to corruption. They know they are the bad guys, but they prefer that to working with/for women and minorities. Hell they were just supporting children being separated from their parents and put into cages a few weeks ago.
The current right wing fantasy isn't about Law and Order but has changed to match the times. The current right wing fantasy is just the blatant fixation on Power and the ability to conduct Violence on those they deemed different. Even if the consequences are self destructive. If we're being honest the right wing fantasy was always this nihilistic, they just packaged it in "Law and Order" to make themselves feel justified.
Sounds like a bull shyt tarantino film without N-word thrown around 500 times. But still keeping the hardcore racism.

By this logic every depiction of a racist cop is a right wing fantasy. The only people who think a bunch of violent racist criminal cops are prototype alpha males are racist sociopaths themselves, I highly doubt the movie actually tries to cater to them.
People need to understand here that protagonists are not the same thing as heroes. You can make a film about vile, ugly people and let the ugliness of their souls speak for itself, because any normal person would not root for them.

Though a six-week suspension seems like a mild punishment, especially considering this is the third time Ridgeman’s been busted for using excessive force, he is in desperate need of cash. You see, his wife Melanie (Laurie Holden) has MS and his daughter is bullied by black kids on her four-block trek to school. Worried that those same black kids will rape their daughter once she matures, they vow to move to a better neighborhood (presumably one with less black people). “I never thought I was a racist until living in this area,” Melanie says, her husband nodding in agreement. So Ridgeman cooks up a plan to rob an out-of-town crook, and ropes in Lurasetti with a Forgotten Man spiel: “I don’t politick and I don’t change with the times,” he explains, lamenting how that matters more in today’s world than “good, honest work.”
“Its two most sadistic scenes consist of a newly-minted mom whose fingers and face are shredded off with a machine gun, and a black man (Michael Jai White’s Biscuit) who is graphically disemboweled in order to retrieve a swallowed key. After removing his heart and intestines, a white henchman warns another not to puncture his liver because “it stinks… black guys especially.”
