Im guessing Nicki is gonna have the crown from 2010-17 and then it's gonna transition from Cardi B to A Boogie/Lil Tjay/Pop Smoke.
Jay, Fabolous, Rocky, French are contenders in those years Nicki isn’t going to sweep like that

At most she’ll get 2010/11 or 2014/15

Knowing this platform fukking Westside Gunn and Roc Marciano are going to take years :dead:

This is what I'm saying... The King title is too heavy for some years

Some years just had princes and some just had dukes. Some just had line bosses :pachaha:
Right. Some years just had too much competition. Just look at 87-90 when you had prime Rakim, Kane, Slick Rick, Kool G Rap and LL. And then the late 90s after Big died was deep too

I’d LOVE to see a common sense argument for muthafukking Max B in 09 over Jay-Z or even Raekwon.
Jay was easily the king in 2009.

City didn’t give a shyt about OB4CL2. Max cultural relevance and influence was far greater.

Random Max mixtape cuts>>Cuban Linx 2

That year Jay is the king. 50, Kiss, and Fab also have top 10 first week sales. Some OG’s like Raekwon, Mos Def, Q-Tip, CNN, Fat Joe dropped but that’s not what the city was on at all. Max and French hottest shyt in the streets and the youth is getting lite and drill rapping on WeMobbinDVD’s. Huge disconnect.

In this time this is a bigger song than anything on Cuban Linx 2 and is a hood classic :heh:

Yeah, Jay was everywhere with BP3.

Breh was one of the first artist to hold a concert over at the new Yankee Stadium that same year.

I know picking a king each year is for engagement purposes. But if we gonna keep it a buck Jay was the king the moment Vol. 2 dropped up until his “retirement” and 50 became 50s time. Then Jay came back and took the crown back and he’s been the king ever since
:hubie:

You just can not disregard the two years that DMX reigned on top. It’s impossible breh

Not disregarding X at all. But he didn’t carry himself like a king. Jay always has. X was the bigger star at the time but there’s a reason Def Jam named it the Hard Knock Life Tour

Personally, as time went by those two years of X being on the rise stood the test of time.

They became more memorable and impactful.
