In 2002 Camron Had the bigger singles than Nas, did more the first week(both albums stalled at 1 plat cert), and “beat” him in their beef. Made u Look and I can being 2 of Nas’s biggest songs doesn’t mean they were in the same tier as Oh Boy which was the number 2 song in the country overall

Unless you REALLY like Gods son way more than Come home with me, I don’t see his case
God's Sons first week numbers were from only like 3 days of sales because they released it early to jump on the leak

Yeah I know but if not 50 who

It’s 50 or Jay by default

i honestly dont hate the max b pick in 2008. but this is where it was 100% gonna be tricky because it was slim pickings at that point :mjcry:. late 2000s is where the rappers with the biggest buzz in NY werent even from NY (wayne). people mentioned that after a certain point, there were no true "kings of new york" and i definitely agree.

Super nasty

2005: 50 Cent
2006: Jay Z
2007: 50 Cent
2008: 50 Cent
2009: Jay Z

I fukk with Max B…king of New York is crazy.

Yep, this is the most accurate. Although, '08 is a complete wash. 50 definitely lost his sauce after the release of Curtis.

Yeah it was crazy seeing his powers evaporate in real time. Just 6 months later when G-Unit dropped that weak ass single with the auto-tune you just knew it was CURTAINS. I Get Money gave him some extra juice but it was definitely over.

The debate in this thread is hilarious :pachaha:

At this point meccapolis just needs to come out and do a live on his criteria for each year while fielding pushback from angry NY nikkas :mjlol:

Maybe Prince of NY would have been more palatable for some of these picks

Like in some years, 50 Cent and Jay Z had the numbers but who had the "streets"? And it wasn't them, despite the numbers. But having the "streets" alone don't make you king. But you should get some credit for that. Ergo, Max B/Stack Bundles/Fab/et al

Max B :mjlol: Oh boy we are getting trolled by ChatGPT

You might as well just pick Raekwon for 2009 because of Only Built 4 Cuban Linx part 2. What album did make Max B the King of NY? Coke Wave mixtape? :russ:
